2019-05-21 12:53:04 UTC

So the Assyrian and oriental orthodox joined back into Catholics?

2019-05-21 12:55:09 UTC

maybe some joined as some eastern orthodox joined the papacy

2019-05-21 13:05:24 UTC

Also... you do realize that most Protestant churches don’t have 1 centralized organization that controls doctrine right? There’s like 5 for Baptists. Each one is a little different on their doctrines. Then you have the numerous independent churches whose doctrine is controlled by the current pastor and whatever leaders they have.

2019-05-21 13:10:56 UTC

Some denominations have largely gone to heresy. Methodist is the first I think of. There’s plenty of good Methodist churches, but some of their ruling organizations have allowed female pastors and gay weddings and other crap.

2019-05-21 13:13:21 UTC

The Methodist church I grew up in was forced to retire their good ole fashioned fire and brimstone pastor and replace him with one chosen by the United Methodist Church. The first guy was really good. He actually dressed in a robe like he was a monk or something. Had sound messages, from what I remember. Then the organization decided to move him after like 4 years and replaced him with a woman.

2019-05-21 13:14:10 UTC

The woman just talked about how we should be kind all the time because Jesus was kind all the time.

2019-05-21 13:14:49 UTC

True, but as I said most of the protestant churches are revisioning the bible thus turning it to heresy

2019-05-21 13:15:22 UTC

Like one of the protestant church in US that allow same sex marriagw and the woman that is bishop there is an lgbt hedonist

2019-05-21 13:15:50 UTC

I don’t think saying “most” is fair. Now if you’re referring to Protestant churches that accept gay pastors, gay weddings, and women pastors. Then yeah those are heresy.

2019-05-21 13:16:38 UTC

Or ones that teach that God isn’t a trinity.

2019-05-21 13:16:46 UTC

Or there’s no hell...

2019-05-21 13:18:34 UTC

The Methodist church in my town actually was all upset and sort of protested when the UMC decided to not allow gay marriages in the churches.

2019-05-21 13:19:12 UTC

It obviously has a female pastor. She looks like a middle aged cat lady lesbian too.

2019-05-21 13:20:41 UTC

The lack of a central organization has its pros and cons.

2019-05-21 13:21:43 UTC

A Protestant Church can have a certain denomination on the sign, but without talking to the pastor you don’t really know what doctrines are actually taught in the church.

2019-05-21 13:22:35 UTC

That is one thing I admire about orthodox and Catholics. Doctrines are supposed to be the same worldwide.

2019-05-21 14:04:23 UTC

definitely don't agree with gay weddings and gay church leaders

2019-05-21 14:04:40 UTC

but where in the bible does it say women pastors are wrong?

2019-05-21 14:41:37 UTC

I think it’s Timothy. It’s the part about the requirements for deacons.

2019-05-21 14:42:03 UTC

That usually translates to the same requirements for priests/pastors as well.

2019-05-21 14:44:40 UTC

Then we have numerous times it’s explained that men are supposed to be the head/ruler.

2019-05-21 14:49:14 UTC

Then the other New Testament part that gets most modern feminist educated women upset, women are to be subservient to their husbands. So another example of women not being in charge.

2019-05-21 14:50:39 UTC

@Deleted User Women in orthodox arent allowed to place their foot inside the holy places of the churches nor are allowed to our sacred monasteries

2019-05-21 15:01:42 UTC

@Andrules Orthodoxy is a decentralized church but we dont have such problems

2019-05-21 15:16:11 UTC

I know you don’t have a pope, but don’t you have some sort of council or organized group that makes doctrinal decisions for the Orthodox Church?

2019-05-21 15:17:22 UTC

the penticostals have the Penticostal Holiness Church as an organization who makes decisions

2019-05-21 15:17:58 UTC

and also our church is sponsored by Global University which teaches theology and biblical greek

2019-05-21 15:19:23 UTC

Aren’t there multiple Pentecostal organizations? I know there are for most other Protestant denominations.

2019-05-21 15:20:01 UTC

oh heck

2019-05-21 15:20:06 UTC

well that's the one we have

2019-05-21 15:20:28 UTC

probably a branch to a bigger organization which makes the actual decisions
