if id live even remotely near anywhere antifa is spotted id just hang up

2018-11-01 18:15:00 UTC

I imagine that a small percentage of people also poll for their opposite just to encourage voter turnout.

2018-11-01 18:47:21 UTC

That would be a zero sum game though. It works for both sides.

2018-11-01 18:47:31 UTC

True

2018-11-01 18:47:51 UTC

Or maybe they are undecided and then they see the news and vote red

Unverified. But some calls might be able to confirm or deny some of the details. @Timcast

It should be noted, it would be very hard to assign blame or anything in this case and it doesn't seem to be getting much attention.

2018-11-01 20:05:03 UTC

And let's be honest. It could be a false flag.

2018-11-01 20:32:08 UTC

I doubt it's a false flag intended to stir something up. But it could be any number of things.

2018-11-01 20:32:29 UTC

If it didn't seem plausible to me, I wouldn't have posted it here.

2018-11-01 20:38:58 UTC

It could be legitimate.

2018-11-01 20:39:15 UTC

But it could also be a ploy to gain sympathy and strengthen his position.

2018-11-01 20:39:39 UTC

I wouldn't jump to the conclusion it is, say, a Democrat or ANTIFA. But I doubt that Torba himself opened the propane tanks and lit the burner.

It might be an accident (just about the only not-sabotage hypothesis that might exist if the fire department confirms the story).

That said, given current events, I would assume *someone* did it. For what reason, we don't know.

2018-11-01 20:40:03 UTC

Why do you doubt Torba did it himself?

2018-11-01 20:40:14 UTC

Why would he do it to his own parents?

2018-11-01 20:40:20 UTC

And there's better ways to do it.

2018-11-01 20:40:32 UTC

As I said, to gain sympathy and strengthen his position by slandering his ideological opponents.

2018-11-01 20:40:36 UTC

And why make it so ambiguous.

2018-11-01 20:40:59 UTC

If he wanted to frame someone, he'd leave marks to make it obvious who he was attacking.

2018-11-01 20:41:39 UTC

I would expect if he was trying to do some kind of false flag it would be public, obvious and to his own stuff.

2018-11-01 20:42:15 UTC

His parents have been getting harassed for some time. A number of people (mostly on the left) decided they could go after family a while ago.

2018-11-01 20:42:32 UTC

Is an attack on his parents more despicable, thus garnering more sympathy?

2018-11-01 20:42:51 UTC

I think you're being way too conspiratorial.

2018-11-01 20:43:15 UTC

I'm being conspiratorial by recognizing the possibility?

2018-11-01 20:43:30 UTC

Also, the neighbor calling it in can probably be confirmed. Why would you take that risk of it *not* being discovered by a neighbor if you were doing a false flag.

2018-11-01 20:43:40 UTC

No, I think you're being conspiratorial by pushing it so hard.

2018-11-01 20:43:52 UTC

Nothing about this says "false flag" to me.

2018-11-01 20:43:55 UTC

Pushing it? What do you want me to say, it *couldn't* be true?

2018-11-01 20:44:05 UTC

I will stand by my position that it is a possibility.

2018-11-01 20:44:30 UTC

I'm giving reasons I don't think it's a false flag. You keep insisting that it could be without giving any argument otherwise besides "he might gain sympathy"

2018-11-01 20:44:47 UTC

You haven't shifted possibilities either.

2018-11-01 20:44:56 UTC

Yes, becoming a victim of violence is a political tactic, it's well known and false flags are a common way of gaining the position for years now.

2018-11-01 20:45:06 UTC

Of all the theories as to what happened, a false flag seems the least plausible.

2018-11-01 20:45:15 UTC

That's completely untrue and you know it.

2018-11-01 20:45:26 UTC

But there's been so much violence and so much of it is *not* a false flag.

2018-11-01 20:45:36 UTC

Not an argument.

2018-11-01 20:45:57 UTC

Yes, there has been actual violence. And there has also been false flags.

2018-11-01 20:46:12 UTC

What do you believe are hallmarks of a false flag operation?

2018-11-01 20:46:14 UTC

But the really big things, the really damaging things haven't been.

2018-11-01 20:46:20 UTC

Well, obvious and public for one.

2018-11-01 20:46:21 UTC

What indicators make you think "Yep, that's a false flag"?
