That's the land as described by God in the Bible
ah, that was my next guess
Promised to Abraham right?
Moses
gah messed up again lol
I'll blame it on being tired from work 😄
You may be right but I thought it was Moses
Probably both to be honest
I remember Abraham went on a mountain and God told him to look around, and the land he saw was his.
Then Moses was able to see the promised land, but not allowed to enter. Then, I want to say Joshua, scouted Canaan and then conquered it.
You might be right because yeah Moses died before he could enter
Joshua was a hardcore dude
Yeah, super pimp boss. Only beat out by Solomon or David lol
Heck most of the OT was like action heroes
Bronze age Chuck Norris
yeah. Judges is one of my favorite books. Then Elijah and Elisha.
Looks like one of the maps in my Bible
I want to say thats, pre-split Israel.
You ever get ahold of a Catholic Bible, read 1st Maccabees
You don't have to believe it's inspired to appreciate it
Basically the maccabean revolt
Like a Jewish 300
I believe those silly 😉 catholic books are worth reading. Not necessarily for scripture, but still worth a read.
And they are at least historical to my understanding.
Just to be fair the Orthodox have an even larger canon
It's been a while since I've read about it but for historical inaccuracies Maccabees was excluded from the bible.
Luther threw it out because the oldest known copy at the time wasn't in Hebrew
Dead sea scrolls included an older copy in Hebrew though
I was really surprised to see how Luther sort of hated Jews lol
Was all pissed they didn't convert to Protestantism
He's basically the great grandfather of the Nazis
Originally he also tossed revelation
oh wow
Well Luther wasn't in charge of the bible. It was pieced together in Constantinople.
Initially anyway
The first "Protestant Bibles" had all the same books as us but moved them to another section
Including revelation
What was his issue with Revelations?
Said it was fake and uninspired
