We talked briefly about black holes yesterday. I mentioned that if we ever developed hyperdrive technology, we could travel beyond the event horizon of a black hole and re-emerge with our observations

there is another challenge involved. All our observations as of now are based on light observation

But we can't see in the dak?

since the tidal forces are so strong beyond the event horizon (greater than the speed of light, by definition), whatever we observe visually will be greatly distorted

this also ignores relativity, which basically means that a few seconds for us on the inside, could be years on the outside for those well outside the event horizon

but given limitless time, that's relatively trivial. We would simply need to come up with another way to observe that does not involve observing the electromagnetic spectrum
