pal of mine set up a vps then made two burner facebook accounts and sent a message from one to the other with only the ip of the vpn - within seconds the vpn was getting pinged for connections to facebook .

did it with a couple of mainstream email hotmail etc same thing

so passive monitoring at the very least

what happened with the other emails?

from memory he did yahoo and hotmail i think ..it was a while ago ill ask him but i was pretty shocked

wait what? When I track peoples IP's thru facebook a lot of times itll ping bot accounts, not sure if you took that into consideration

so he laid it out to me like this - the vpn ip only he knows and you cannot search for it without the ip. he then sent the ip through facebook from one account to the other and that was enough to ping the vpn. so facebook did it not him
