the majority of card carrying nazis were just citizens fighting for the good of their country, it was only a select few who were really bad

i think some of the SS were monstrous, but there were monsters on all sides

the Soviets did some fucked up things to German citizens on the eastern front

but it is easy fpor them to ignore the atrocities committed in the name of communism

which greatly outnumber those of the nazis

in my personal belief, you should not blame the German Army for the faults of the Nazis

There are accounts from villagers in poland of how german occupation was actually pleasant, with the wehrmacht treating them well, but once they were pushed out and the soviets came through they began beating, raping and mudering

that blame should land squarely on the SS and its leaders

but the German military was full of patriots

good or bad, they served their country

and they should be respected for their loyalty
