500 years behind

2018-12-12 20:57:59 UTC

Were approaching the 1600s in islam

2018-12-12 20:58:04 UTC

you can see the split in their society

2018-12-12 20:58:07 UTC

@mer.at In 500 Years we will probably too throw gays from the Roof.

2018-12-12 20:58:11 UTC

or at least Gay ACtivists

2018-12-12 20:58:18 UTC

If you're implying that Christianity is supposed to only follow the new testament you're sadly misguided

2018-12-12 20:58:43 UTC

Yes but Leviticus said that 14/16 is the Age of Marriage (16 for Boys, 14 Girls).

2018-12-12 20:58:46 UTC

And giving the Catholic Church you can't defend a LOT more power than you ever want to admit.

2018-12-12 20:58:51 UTC

In Islam, the Prophet married a 9 year old

2018-12-12 20:59:17 UTC

Or rather that's when he fucked her.

2018-12-12 20:59:40 UTC

This is a long as fuck tangent away from what I said.

2018-12-12 20:59:46 UTC

There's a ton of bad shit in Christianity's teachings and history, but the point is that the worst shit gets ignored even though the bible says it's not supposed to be. The same can be done with Islam.

2018-12-12 20:59:53 UTC

Following WW2 the greater "Christian Community" around the world saw what happened to the Jews and others in Europe so they quietly all agreed to stop teaching the sections of the bible that justified bigotry towards Jews. And when brought up they reffer to it as old outdated concepts no longer needed. Islam still calls their sections of the Quran a devine mandate

2018-12-12 20:59:57 UTC

You derailed it instantly. It made you uncomfortable.

2018-12-12 21:00:57 UTC

Although you instantly knew what I was talking about it.

2018-12-12 21:01:14 UTC

```There's a ton of bad shit in Christianity's teachings and history, but the point is that the worst shit gets ignored even though the bible says it's not supposed to be. The same can be done with Islam.```
No, because you can argue that there were corrupted persons leading the Christians at the time and abused/misused the faith.
Can't do the same with ISIS. They are just following the book to the letter. Can't say that they are misusing/abusing the faith. Because they do what the faith was meant to be.
2018-12-12 21:01:16 UTC
EWWWWWWW
2018-12-12 21:01:27 UTC
Theresa May has won the confidence vote
2018-12-12 21:02:04 UTC
If people were following Christianity's teachings to the letter we'd be stoning disobedient children.
2018-12-12 21:02:21 UTC
What does following Christianity to the letter of the Bible look like to you?
2018-12-12 21:02:29 UTC
``` Islam still calls their sections of the Quran a devine mandate```
They have to because the hypocrites are at the same level or worse than Christians.
And Apostacy means death for you

2018-12-12 21:03:26 UTC

Oh, it's Sched I blocked?....

2018-12-12 21:04:00 UTC

The whole point is that with a reformation Muslims would no longer be following the Quran to the letter just as modern Christians don't follow the Bible to the letter.

2018-12-12 21:04:02 UTC

You must've pinged gamers...

2018-12-12 21:04:11 UTC

Yep, and it was glorious

2018-12-12 21:05:20 UTC

```The whole point is that with a reformation Muslims would```
...be Christians....
2018-12-12 21:05:50 UTC
so I'm with David Wood on this. You can't fix a faith that is inherently bad, you can only try to convert the good people away from that.
2018-12-12 21:06:18 UTC
I'm not for killing muslims (if avoidable), I'm for killing the books and tell them the shocking truth about their faith.
2018-12-12 21:06:24 UTC
Is Christianity inherently bad because of Leviticus?
2018-12-12 21:06:57 UTC
Does christianity demand to conquer and kill all the non believers (or subdue them)??
2018-12-12 21:07:57 UTC
Christianity demands a lot of bad stuff. The point of reformation was to get rid of the bad stuff. If Islam had a reformation it would no longer demand they conquer and kill the non believers. This is the whole point of reformation. To get rid of the bad.
2018-12-12 21:08:24 UTC
Yeah but what was the goal of Christianity from the Beginning?
2018-12-12 21:08:39 UTC
Was it to bring people together and outlie some rules?
Or was it to conquer the world?
2018-12-12 21:09:16 UTC
Why does the beginning matter? The point of reformation is to REFORM it with modern sensibilities in mind.
2018-12-12 21:09:29 UTC
The point is to get rid of those beginnings.
2018-12-12 21:09:45 UTC
Judaism.
2018-12-12 21:10:05 UTC
Because there are passages in Islam that do not allow any kind of reform.
2018-12-12 21:10:31 UTC
There are parts of the Bible that day you're not allowed to change them.
2018-12-12 21:10:39 UTC
Guess where thy are
2018-12-12 21:10:43 UTC
Omitted.
2018-12-12 21:12:05 UTC
Yes, but does the Bible say its the ultimate word of god and preserved in perfection?
