right wing left wing bs is just a way to narrow the public discussion so i can choose between national socialism and my beloved international socialism

2019-01-05 19:52:48 UTC

nothing new, Hegelian dialectic in the modern day. polished and shiny

2019-01-05 20:13:07 UTC

but they both belong to the left... wtf

2019-01-05 20:34:41 UTC

shhh

2019-01-05 20:34:47 UTC

don't let them know..

2019-01-05 20:38:33 UTC

Again, I don't even know what "left" and "right" even mean anymore

2019-01-05 20:39:12 UTC

I just think that if Merkel is left than so would be Thatcher, Reagan, and Bush (I and II)

2019-01-05 21:02:34 UTC

I think you guys are ignoring just how open borders Merkel and Macron is. If these leaders had any sort of 'My nation first' attitude to them then I'd agree with you when you say they had any right wing tenancies. However thats not that case, so its completely safe to think of them as 'left winged'

2019-01-05 21:05:17 UTC

If im gonna be real its also ridiculously dangerous to be calling Merkel and Macron 'Center-Right' as it can put people in the mindframe of people who have more right leaning views to be smeared as 'Far-Right' or 'Alt-Right'.

2019-01-05 21:06:41 UTC

left and right is just a "sports team" that you can root for and keep the D&C strategy they have been doing for thousands of years. still going strong

2019-01-05 21:06:58 UTC

For Marcon and Merkel. I see them as far-right economic, and between center and fa left culturally

2019-01-05 21:07:45 UTC

ehh... let's not pretend they are some free market saints. the fact we even are labeling them as anything but socialists -lite is terrifying

2019-01-05 21:08:08 UTC

The only way they could be considered right wing is economically, everything else has raging leftism in their blood, and I'd agree that there isn't any 'Left/Right', just look at what happened in France. But we can't ignore there is 'Left/Right' thought no matter what

2019-01-05 21:08:24 UTC

they pay crazy taxes

2019-01-05 21:08:33 UTC

how crazy big EU empire programs and now army

2019-01-05 21:08:45 UTC

let's not give them credit, lol. I am far from impressed.

2019-01-05 21:09:21 UTC

No surprise this is what you get when Europe is disarmed...

2019-01-05 21:09:41 UTC

most don't even have kids... they have no incentive to do what is 'good'

2019-01-05 21:10:59 UTC

Honestly in Europe, if you're doing good you're probably breaking the law aswell, really no incentive to even live in Europe anymore save for a few countries

2019-01-05 21:30:08 UTC

Reagan was rather generous to illegals

2019-01-05 21:32:09 UTC

At least to Dreamers

2019-01-05 21:32:13 UTC

more I read about Reagan, the more I dislike him now

2019-01-05 21:32:54 UTC

He was pretty darned conservative for the time, especially on social issues. Look at him on the HIV/AIDS issue. 😦

2019-01-05 21:32:57 UTC

still no where near as bad as bushes/clintons/obamas i guess. but wtf is that for a comparison.

2019-01-05 21:33:39 UTC

He tried to stop IRS at least... got him shot too. so I guess he took some risks

2019-01-05 21:35:18 UTC

My point is that until second term Obama and Trump there was little difference between Dem and Repub in the entire post-war period when it comes to immigration

2019-01-05 21:35:20 UTC

JFK had balls 10x as big

2019-01-05 21:35:34 UTC

yeah but look how easy obama had it

2019-01-05 21:35:41 UTC

almost no bad coverage

2019-01-05 21:35:51 UTC

96% negative propaganda articles for trump from "media"

2019-01-05 21:36:07 UTC

people obsessed with blocking you just for status, not even merit

2019-01-05 21:36:20 UTC

WE GOTTA STAY IN SYRIA GUYS!!! and fight ISIS!!! oh wai-

2019-01-05 21:36:25 UTC

When there's so much merit

2019-01-05 21:37:10 UTC

you have to be absolutely GONE to think we should stay in syria. The Clintons, Bushes clapping their hands in excitement of another era of "freedom making"

2019-01-05 21:39:30 UTC

We should never have gotten into Iraq or Syria. I have said that since literally 9/11 when i predicted Iraq had nothing to do with it but Bush would go in anyway. That said, now that we are there, we are stuck dealing with it. Otherwise we end up with a vacuum that will either benefit ISIL or Iran...or both.

2019-01-05 21:41:07 UTC

Since we've decided to go the hard route with Iran since we backed out of a less-than-ideal-but-better-than-the-alternative Iran Compact, that makes it even more critical we don't leave that vacuum.

2019-01-05 21:42:08 UTC

If we'd not driven Assad deeper into the arms of Russia and Iran, maybe it might be different. But now...it's not going to be pretty.

2019-01-05 21:43:54 UTC

After 2011 we (as in the west) interfered in Syria as part of the Arab Spring which along with the CF that is Iraq yielded us ISIL. Trump kicked off his presidency by getting us far deeper involved in Syria. Now we're just leaving with the mess all still there.

2019-01-05 21:45:01 UTC

We were dumb to axe Saddam and we were dumb to try to axe Assad. Now that we've kicked the dog repeatedly but not killed him, we're walking away because we don't like getting bit. We'll get bit far worse later.
