So I was hiking a lot in Slovak mountains. Do you know how I managed to avoid bears?
I read that Slovakia has brown bears. Encouraged action to do was to be just loud enough to scare bears and don't go unnoticed near them. But not so loud you attract them as potential food.
If you actually see a bear it is recommended to freeze and see where he goes if he ignores you you can walk away after bear is gone. If he goes near you try to very slowly retreat, no running or yelling as that could make him attack
So I thought. I will sing a song to scare bears off. Death metal is too brutal, pop is too weak. So I picked black metal song. Now which band? I decided to go for most brutal black metal band I know. Black Anal Goat Vomit. So as I was walking through forest between 5-7pm I was looking around and if I saw movement or heard noises I started in moderate voice singing song by BAGV. It worked as I saw no bears. Idk if any bear were around me and BAGV scared them off or no bear was even nearby my trail. But I can say now, that MAYBE Black Anal Goat Vomit saved my life from ending as bear's dinner
