Those helis in front look like Hueys and the US hasnt used those since vietnam

2019-02-03 00:42:06 UTC

Many countries still use them in their armed forces, including Colombia

Hang on

Comments are strange

2019-02-03 00:46:18 UTC

The poster appears to be thanking the US but doesnt provide any additional details or confirmation

2019-02-03 00:47:06 UTC

Posts in spanish appear to be doubting the claim of these being marines

2019-02-03 00:47:54 UTC

some claim that the helis in the video are the colombians providing humanitarian aid

2019-02-03 00:48:12 UTC

lmao

2019-02-03 00:48:23 UTC

"US pilots are pretty good at staying in formations and that group of Blackhawks didn't even resemble a flight formation."

2019-02-03 00:49:02 UTC

oof

2019-02-03 00:49:09 UTC

2019-02-03 00:49:24 UTC

2019-02-03 00:50:36 UTC

I am the editor of my high school newspaper and news website and I really like talking to real world journalists and trying to get tips on how I can write more important stories. That is why I asked. (Didn't want to post in general because it would have interrupted the conversation)

2019-02-03 01:09:01 UTC

And just talking to them in general about the world and society and all that

2019-02-03 01:10:41 UTC

"That is why I asked. " asked what?

2019-02-03 01:13:44 UTC

In general I asked if Timcast ever talks in the chatrooms

2019-02-03 01:17:28 UTC

It happens. But I haven't seen it in awhile. If he does, he usually just briefly drops in general.

2019-02-03 01:18:34 UTC

I wouldn't hang around general though. Too many people and most of it is garbage. Honestly, this server has been on a decline for awhile.

2019-02-03 01:19:09 UTC

Yeah that is what I presumed coming into the server and seeing a general chat

2019-02-03 01:19:26 UTC

But thank you for telling me

2019-02-03 01:29:44 UTC

General is a mess

2019-02-03 01:32:39 UTC

At least it is somewhat intellectually engaging

2019-02-03 01:35:22 UTC

i don't know if there's too many people or what but i just ignore it

2019-02-03 01:36:12 UTC

Same. Plus the quality of people declined.

2019-02-03 01:37:12 UTC

i'm mostly here for memes now

2019-02-03 01:46:53 UTC

LMAO

2019-02-03 01:49:59 UTC

Its a thread with lots of names

2019-02-03 01:50:57 UTC

This is going to be a mess

2019-02-03 02:03:33 UTC

Lemon you were talking about writing more important stories

2019-02-03 02:03:48 UTC

What do you consider to be the most important sort of story?

2019-02-03 02:05:21 UTC

The most impactful to readers to let them stay informed about their local situation? The most impactful to society so that people can discuss larger happenings and ideas? The most recent news so that people dont get surprised by major developments?

2019-02-03 02:29:41 UTC

I think the most important news stories as of now are the informative ones. (Excuse the long paragraph) For example someone shot a gun into the air in the student parking lot at my high school a few weeks ago. As soon as the gun was fired people were panicking and the school locked all students outside of rhe building as they went into lockdown. And since this was during dismissal, a lot of students were very afraid. The other student journalists (on Yearbook staff) told me not to run a story even three hours after the event because it would contribute to the "hysteria." But I ran the story anyway because there were students messaging me, posting on Facebook and Instagram, emailing admins, etc about if it was a shooting and if anyone was harmed. I argued over and over again that they need to know that 1. it wasn't a student at my school and 2. no one was shot. That is something they need to know immediately, not three to five hours afterwards, while the school is STILL in lockdown. But that could fit under all three of your criteria if written the right way

2019-02-03 02:32:24 UTC

you ok

2019-02-03 02:33:50 UTC

But that is just from a community standpoint, and that's the only journalism I know. My newsmagazine has won a first class rating from the national scholastic press association with 3 distinction marks, but people at my school still do not care about journalism. That is why I need help with expanding outside my school with important issues

2019-02-03 02:33:56 UTC

yea
