@Grenade123 it's big corporate coming down on smaller, more independent news tho

2019-02-21 00:00:45 UTC

remember Chernobyl? Anything that is bad for humans appears to be good for nature, so what we actually need is less protection of the environment (where humans live!), less gun control and somehow pass a bill in the government to legalize cannibalism...

2019-02-21 00:03:08 UTC

I endorse nuclear energy. A lot.

2019-02-21 04:09:43 UTC

coming down? you mean buying up smaller companies? they do that.

2019-02-21 04:10:16 UTC

local stations are not really "independent" news imo. they are often owned by one of the larger media companies

2019-02-21 04:59:51 UTC

anybody who has taken time to research the topic with a open mind knows that nuclear is absolutely the way to go for power plants.

2019-02-21 05:01:47 UTC

I have to say, I am not opposed to Nuclear, but they have pros and cons... Frankly we need to get congress to pull the ban on recycled pelet reactors and get more use out of them

2019-02-21 05:06:49 UTC

what is the alternative

2019-02-21 05:07:05 UTC

you're right though, it's just a matter of making the best tradeoffs

2019-02-21 05:07:44 UTC

the way I see it, it's amazing that we have an option with so many winning tradeoffs like we see in nuclear.

2019-02-21 05:10:32 UTC

I will admit that the cons of Nuclear are often way over sold and over hyped.

2019-02-21 05:11:34 UTC

not like any of us are experts in this matter at the end

2019-02-21 05:11:48 UTC

but that thorium nuclear looks very promising, looking to the future

2019-02-21 05:12:21 UTC

I had to write a few papers for my ecology courses so I know a little

2019-02-21 05:12:42 UTC

Pracitcally an expert now 😏

2019-02-21 05:12:49 UTC

😂

2019-02-21 05:12:49 UTC

Lmao na, just joshin'

2019-02-21 05:13:09 UTC

I read reddit, so I know more than you

2019-02-21 05:13:21 UTC

Oof, he got me.

2019-02-21 05:13:30 UTC

The average discharge of radiation from a US reactor is less that opening a bottle of beer

2019-02-21 05:14:06 UTC

geothermal energy is pretty cool

2019-02-21 05:14:07 UTC

Now granted if things go wrong then it is a massive mess

2019-02-21 05:14:25 UTC

Well then, why dont we just use these reactors for beer bottles then. It seems like beer bottles are going to be the next chernobyl.

2019-02-21 05:14:28 UTC

I sometimes don't understand why we don't just stick crap into the earth and let our warm interiors and mantles and shit heat the water up

2019-02-21 05:14:50 UTC

Issues to do with pressure and the like.

2019-02-21 05:15:02 UTC

It would be a good thing to develop though

2019-02-21 05:15:04 UTC

is that the issue though..? 🤔

2019-02-21 05:15:40 UTC

if I were someone who built an oil monopoly and a bunch of other shit on top of that, why would I ever want people to have easy energy? no incentive, at all, for anyone in the energy industry

2019-02-21 05:15:56 UTC

just like no incentive to cure cancer instead of just prolonging the treatment bills

2019-02-21 05:15:58 UTC

That and engery returns to expenditures for that idea Unwound

2019-02-21 05:17:38 UTC

The problem I have with solar is that solar is THE MOST toxic form of energy on the planet. The stuff they use to make solar cells are toxic. Wind keeps killing birds left and right, espeically endangered species of birds...

2019-02-21 05:17:51 UTC

solar and wind are memes

2019-02-21 05:18:07 UTC

^^^

2019-02-21 05:18:26 UTC

Nuclear is a really good option, as well as space solar.

2019-02-21 05:18:35 UTC

Have any of you seen an off the grid house with solar and wind power?

2019-02-21 05:18:39 UTC

Rockefellers seriously planned this all out, they started the "green" revolution. they owned both the oil and "green" industries, don't you see how brilliant that is?

2019-02-21 05:19:26 UTC

you can own everyone forever if you control both pieces on the balance board, cheap dirty "dinosaur" fuel, and the clean, globe-saving sun fuel

2019-02-21 05:19:45 UTC

it's fucked up but brilliant lmao

2019-02-21 05:20:22 UTC

To run a small house with lights, 1 computer, 1 Refigerator, 1 Stove and 1 water heater, it takes a 1 car garage filled with batteries to keep it runing

2019-02-21 05:20:55 UTC

battery doesn't produce energy tho, right

2019-02-21 05:20:58 UTC

And we are talking the big ones for trucks
