Variance in some of those data sets is up to 60%, so there are certainly a lot of "exceptions". I am just not sure if I should call them exceptions, because they are part of what forms the characteristics of the data set.

Both sets have an average of "5". However, one has a much larger variance than the other.

What is the chance you get a value >5 if you picked an item at random in either set?
