US dumps money to 3rd world to keep them down.
free money and food and they are too stupid to develope by them self.

2018-11-09 18:23:13 UTC

And mass death

2018-11-09 18:23:25 UTC

I didn't say it was entirely positive.

2018-11-09 18:23:26 UTC

nobody cares about how ultimately superior we as humans are over all the other species on this earth, we got everything you could want we can do everything other animals can yet we fail to look after ourselves in the long run

2018-11-09 18:23:46 UTC

Short term greed

2018-11-09 18:23:52 UTC

that's what fucks us up

2018-11-09 18:23:58 UTC

always

2018-11-09 18:24:54 UTC

well greed and emotion

2018-11-09 18:25:00 UTC

thinking with your heart etc

2018-11-09 18:25:16 UTC

follow your hearth but think with your brain

2018-11-09 18:25:29 UTC

doing what you think is right isnt always what is right

2018-11-09 18:25:40 UTC

Indeed

2018-11-09 18:25:54 UTC

Emotion is a killer

2018-11-09 18:26:29 UTC

@DefinitlyNotInsane - NL lol the issue with wind power isn't that it looks bad, it's that you cut down the bird population in your area, which has its own impact on the environment

2018-11-09 18:26:33 UTC

Boy, would be a shame if groups that tended to value and suffer from emotion more heavily had a say in our government.

2018-11-09 18:26:39 UTC

Good thing we don't have that problem.

2018-11-09 18:27:05 UTC

Wind power's just solar with pretensions, anyway.

2018-11-09 18:27:38 UTC

@Beemann that wasnt the point i was making i havent taken a stance in this conversation on windpower im talking about people caring more about how their back garden looks than doin anything for this world

2018-11-09 18:28:25 UTC

wind turbines are loud, kill birds and look bad.

2018-11-09 18:28:30 UTC

Right but you're talking about issues without an easy solution, so what sort of caring is meant to be done?

2018-11-09 18:28:35 UTC

gtg guys, stay safe

2018-11-09 18:29:02 UTC

more nuclear.
easy

2018-11-09 18:31:24 UTC

Easy ish

2018-11-09 18:31:32 UTC

Thorium is a good solution for now for sure

2018-11-09 18:31:46 UTC

There's PR issues and you have to make sure you're up to standards

2018-11-09 18:31:49 UTC

but its not permanent

2018-11-09 18:31:52 UTC

Hydro and geothermal are also good

2018-11-09 18:32:11 UTC

its still a recourse taken from the earth so it will run out someday

2018-11-09 18:32:18 UTC

All are expensive to replace current systems with, and we don't have infrastructure leading to every need

2018-11-09 18:32:30 UTC

Hydro and geothermal m8

2018-11-09 18:33:15 UTC

Nothing is permanent, if you go out far enough.

2018-11-09 18:33:22 UTC

But it will last long enough.

2018-11-09 18:35:12 UTC

thorium is meme.
hydro is good but only in few places.
same with geothermal but even more limited.

2018-11-09 18:42:15 UTC

LFTR's not a meme, it was proven in the '60s.

2018-11-09 18:42:46 UTC

yeah so is flat earth it was proven even earlier

2018-11-09 18:43:14 UTC

It was built and operated in the '60s.

2018-11-09 18:43:32 UTC

It was used to generate electric power in the '60s.

2018-11-09 18:46:28 UTC

Potato can be used to generate electicity.
That doesnt mean its viable solution.

2018-11-09 18:47:28 UTC

I couldn't tell you with absolute certainty, but I'm pretty sure an equivalent amount of thorium has several magnitudes more potential energy than a potato.
