@DefinitlyNotInsane - NL lol the issue with wind power isn't that it looks bad, it's that you cut down the bird population in your area, which has its own impact on the environment
Boy, would be a shame if groups that tended to value and suffer from emotion more heavily had a say in our government.
Good thing we don't have that problem.
Wind power's just solar with pretensions, anyway.

Thorium is a good solution for now for sure
There's PR issues and you have to make sure you're up to standards
but its not permanent
Hydro and geothermal are also good
its still a recourse taken from the earth so it will run out someday
All are expensive to replace current systems with, and we don't have infrastructure leading to every need

It was built and operated in the '60s.
It was used to generate electric power in the '60s.
Potato can be used to generate electicity.
That doesnt mean its viable solution.
I couldn't tell you with absolute certainty, but I'm pretty sure an equivalent amount of thorium has several magnitudes more potential energy than a potato.
