They dont have to monitor their usage, if they dont enable usage in the first place

2018-12-23 05:17:04 UTC

@Countess Wrong. I wasn't representing your argument. If you don't stop misrepresenting what I'm saying I will block you

2018-12-23 05:17:11 UTC

What are you implying with ". I said didn't your parents ever ban you from something that you did anyways?"

2018-12-23 05:17:25 UTC

Are you implying that parrental bans are ineffective?

2018-12-23 05:17:32 UTC

Which is not what I am calling for

2018-12-23 05:17:33 UTC

@Countess I'm implying that kids will do what parents don't want them to do

2018-12-23 05:17:36 UTC

Sure

2018-12-23 05:17:49 UTC

Which doenst have anything to do with my original suggestion

2018-12-23 05:17:53 UTC

@Countess children have internet access through thought alone now

2018-12-23 05:17:58 UTC

of dont give a kid a personal device and internet access

2018-12-23 05:18:00 UTC

therefore it makes sense not to rely solely on parents to regulate platforms

2018-12-23 05:18:14 UTC

You need a device to access the internet

2018-12-23 05:18:14 UTC

that's why we didn't rely solely on parents to regulate the tv

2018-12-23 05:18:20 UTC

6 year olds dont have money for a tablet

2018-12-23 05:19:05 UTC

Sure, if you want your kid to be technologically ignorant, you can take technology away from them

2018-12-23 05:19:14 UTC

lmao

2018-12-23 05:19:17 UTC

Again you miss the point

2018-12-23 05:19:19 UTC

It's common for kids to have ipads, phones, etc

2018-12-23 05:19:23 UTC

No, you do

2018-12-23 05:19:27 UTC

time restricted access

2018-12-23 05:19:30 UTC

Okay dude slow down

2018-12-23 05:19:39 UTC

Only give them a device when you can supervise their access

2018-12-23 05:19:45 UTC

^

2018-12-23 05:20:02 UTC

Dont give them an iPad to keep in their room @ 6 years old

2018-12-23 05:20:32 UTC

As they age and mature, you can loosen up time restrictions

2018-12-23 05:20:41 UTC

and eventually let them go unsupervised

2018-12-23 05:21:02 UTC

That's not realistic. Lets say a parent gives an ipad to a kid to watch a movie. They walk away and do the dishes. They are still watching the child, but the child can now go into what they aren't supposed to.

Lets say I take my kid somewhere. I want him to have a phone in case of an emergency. That phone can connect to the Internet. I can't stop him.

2018-12-23 05:21:16 UTC

lmao

2018-12-23 05:21:18 UTC

You guys are not being very nuanced

2018-12-23 05:21:24 UTC
