nice

2019-01-01 15:49:04 UTC

I love Bolsonaro

2019-01-01 15:49:48 UTC

He may not be perfect, but he is the best we've got to do something about the current condition of my country

2019-01-01 15:49:50 UTC

I know that most of what he says is political rhetoric
he can do a good job
I'm hoping for the best, tbh

2019-01-01 15:50:09 UTC

I'm excited that he's pro-business

2019-01-01 15:50:19 UTC

and open to privatizing many state entities

2019-01-01 15:51:27 UTC

Only the ones that are not turning a profit

2019-01-01 15:54:18 UTC

I'm not in favor of a full privatization since i view the state run industries who can turn a profit as a way to cut down on taxes, like Petrobrás for example, the problem is that the corrupt administration of PT and their allies have pretty much robbed it into edge of bankrupcy, but i hope that with Bolsonaro in the office and Sérgio Moro as the minister of justice, they will manage to recover most, if not all of the stolen cash and pay the debts of Petrobrás and a sizeable part of the debts of our country

2019-01-01 16:03:12 UTC

our elections are coming up in May

2019-01-01 16:03:25 UTC

Where are you from?

2019-01-01 16:03:31 UTC

India

2019-01-01 16:03:55 UTC

And how are things going in the realm of politics there?

2019-01-01 16:04:10 UTC

its good, we elected our right-wing populist in 2014

2019-01-01 16:04:16 UTC

Nice

2019-01-01 16:04:27 UTC

before there was even a term such as - right wing populist

2019-01-01 16:05:01 UTC

isn't your gouvernment incompetent in the Internet things?

2019-01-01 16:05:02 UTC

they've done pretty well, imo

2019-01-01 16:05:12 UTC

I heard you made a law that companys have to allow access?

2019-01-01 16:05:25 UTC

what access ?

2019-01-01 16:05:45 UTC

Internet Companys have to give the Gouvernment Access to their stuff is what I've heard

2019-01-01 16:06:10 UTC

not that I've heard of
except that companies like whatsapp have to keep their data in servers within the country

2019-01-01 16:06:16 UTC

which is standard security measure

2019-01-01 16:06:53 UTC

its also possible that whatsapp might co-operate with law enforcement

2019-01-01 16:07:15 UTC

Hm, might want to look into that as some people/media outlets claim that the Companys have to allow the Gouvernment access to their services

2019-01-01 16:07:33 UTC

just heard it today on Level1 Tech News

2019-01-01 16:07:46 UTC

ok, I'll look into it

2019-01-01 16:08:56 UTC

here a timed link

2019-01-01 16:09:10 UTC

what I like is how they fucked over Walmart (and kinda Amazon as well)

2019-01-01 16:10:47 UTC

The same laws exist here in Brazil aswell, they've been there for years, here all phone and messenger companies are required to keep a year worth of calls, and conversations so that the police can check them in case they start an investigation, but they need a search warrant to have access to them, and there is a massive beef between WatZapp and the brazilian police and justice system as they demand that WhatZapp keep records of the conversations on the app as there are a lot of criminals who use it and Telegram to do illegal businesses and plot criminal actions.

2019-01-01 16:11:55 UTC

There have even been cases where Watzapp got shutdown for up to 2 weeks because of legal procecutions

2019-01-01 16:12:24 UTC

companies will always find a way around those regulations

2019-01-01 16:12:41 UTC

Govt here has a hangover from their pre-90s socialist days

2019-01-01 16:12:48 UTC

of overhanded regulations

2019-01-01 16:13:19 UTC

yep

2019-01-01 16:13:20 UTC

I mean amazon and walmart

2019-01-01 16:14:34 UTC

in any case, the most important problem for the future is land and labor laws reform

2019-01-01 16:14:59 UTC

which can stimulate the manufacturing sector by making it easy to open up factories

2019-01-01 16:15:13 UTC

providing millions of jobs

2019-01-01 16:16:48 UTC

getting rid of regulation can make yout the next China

2019-01-01 16:17:03 UTC

if we don't become the next China, we might implode
