yeah I was taking the apparently controversial stance of being in favour
And wiggerettes
Blacks have more opportunity and privilege in this country than any other race
I'll have to scroll up & read your argument in favor of it, and see if you can change my mind.
First non-white President was black. Which I thought was an insult to Native Americans
Elizabeth Warren?
Rachel Dolzel?
Barack Obama wasn't descended from slaves
he was the son of a wealthy Kenyan politician
Neither was I
So then reparations only go to verified descendants of slaves, from their slave owners lineage?
in a perfect world, yes. since that's practically impossible, though, you'd have to find the most practical solution that still addresses that
That makes this relevant again, because those terms and definitions exclude race. https://youtu.be/b5YEKPiNwu0
yes I get it dude, non-whites owned slaves
black slavers in africa owned the slaves that were sold to the europeans
I am not contradicting that
It seems they tried the most "practical solution" back in the 60s: welfare and affirmative action
being black wont be a disability if white pays reparations
😎
big think
There's been "reparations" and "white guilt" going on since the 60s
that and prisons
u can beat the slave but cant beat the slavery out of the slave
👏
Huh
WOKE
TAKE
This whole reparations argument stems from claiming to be a victim, and that as a so called victim you deserve a monetary reward for it. Seeing people like Obama & Been Carson both running for president at one point should be more than enough proof on how far black people can go. Racism isn't this huge barrier holding people back.
You know what prevents welfare and prison slavery?

@🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞🥞 yes definitely
A good education? Having two responsible parents in the household?
not quite Zerioc, the reparations argument comes from the fact that the work of someone's ancestors was not paid, i.e. was stolen, by the person who was exploiting them for monetary gain. and that that wealth should be returned to the next-of-kin of who rightfully had title to it. it's not the same thing as damages in a legal sense
Not having kids super early in life?
it's more like the tracing remedy in equity
If welfare is slavery, then what would reparations be?
How do you determine all of that?
equity is what leftists keep using now instead of equality lmao
slavery didn't happen *that* long ago
