rightly or wrongly
well this would be the perfect time to snitch and get the racist tag off..
but they said it was only that one dude..
some of them are power trippers that shouldn't be near a gun let alone be an officer of the peace
there are those...
always will be..
Police training actually encourages making people like that. saw it happen to 2 people I knew who went to the acadamy
i was watching that but it broke
huh?
to racially profile?
racial profiling is a very grey area...
yep, borked
like, that can't be the only reason..
if you are gonna use it, you only use it to observe if anything else comes out of it
it encourages cops to profile
you can't use racial profiling as the reason for the encounter, that's dumb and judges will toss your encounter as illegal
i.e. this area is generally very high in crime
well for using it as an indicator, that's valid imo..
or gang members wear these cloths to signal they are in the gang
where this is a high crime area and a black gang owns it, then a group of hispanics comes in wearing their gang style of clothing, you would be wary...
for me, i would take a slight deviation away >_>
who's more likely to commit a crime (in this case rob a convenient store), a grandmother wearing a Sunday dress or a 20 something (of any race) with a doo rag and baggy shorts?
or a well off person in a low income neighborhood stopping at a random house is rather suspicious in the middle of the night
well both or neither, but if the 20 something acts a certain way... i would pay attention
congratulations you profiled
awesome
Elderly actually do a ton of shoplifting
lmao
😛
doesn't matter
but if i reacted and did an encounter based on just that... then yea, i am in the wrong..
didn't get the profile
got lots of room in those granny panties
elderly people do steal
like they steal anything not bolted down..
they have nothing to lose
no one will send them to jail in most cases
once i saw an elderly stole a napkin dispenser in a restaurant..
juries wont convict, etc
I'm generalizing of course
