No, the fact is

College is (used to mainly) to teach you a higher trade,

Not all "trades" are equal in value to society

its the students best choice to go for one that is in high demand, so they can easily get a job cuz its in high demand

not a field that "sounds nice"

which is what most are doing now

Ever heard of a college boasting a high hiring rate, and then striking a deal with the companies to fire them after a certain time to keep putting freshblood through the cycle?

Just so they can half-legitimately have the high hiring rate?

When people make arguments that automation will open new fields: No it won't.

Maybe to engineers.

if they weren't, the west wouldn't be importing them en masse

But engineering is so tough, only a fraction of the population can be them.
