A DEGREE.
I should know, i have one in IT 😉
What may be in demand right now, may not in a few years.
This didn't waver so rapidly in the past.
It does now.
It makes people fucking nervous.
Nervous people are easy to sell snake oil.
A cure for all that ails ya
I bet this next response will suck.
fair point,
Not a high demand job
A job for high productivity to society
which incidently is also high demand 😄
Well then.
There aren't many jobs in high demand.
oh yes there are
When people make arguments that automation will open new fields: No it won't.
Maybe to engineers.
if they weren't, the west wouldn't be importing them en masse
But engineering is so tough, only a fraction of the population can be them.
So who are we kidding.
thats why there are levels of engineering
You don't have to build rocket-ships
Engineering is not that hard
Yes it is.
Engineering as a study is hard
Engineering as a trade, is not
Nah. I don't think I'm that smart and I have an engineering degree

So fixing robots will be simple, will it
And it will employ everyone.
But I will agree that not everyone can do it
Every job replaced by automation is a NEW PERSON looking for a job on the same market as everyone else.
Job seekers get more and more crowded.
heres the difference
Engineering as a study is:
"Build a machine with only 5 wires, and an engine"
Engineering as a general trade
"Fake it 'till you make it" like any trade really 😛
and no, not THAt literally
@Scribblehatch yeah, that's true
I'm shocked that people aren't being realistic about what's happening.
I'm concerned about all the soon to be unemployed truckers
This is not a car replacing the horse situation.
Yes.
Hence they should find a backup skill to replace their job with,
And i know its not easy, but life isn't easy
