Gorbachev awful. But he inherited a mess. Brought down to him by years of incompetent bureaucracy. The USSR would've fallen regardless of Gorbachev or not. Whats makes Kruschev worse is that Kruschev originally inherited stalins dictatorship. And Stalin was obviously a brutal dictator who had the most cut throat personality of anyone in history. Yet, as bad as Stalin was, he knew what he was doing and he understood what he inherited from Lenin and lead it accordingly. He transformed Russia from a rural, backwards hell hole into a heavily industrialized, powerful natiob (that was low-key still kind of a hell hole) . Kruschev served under Stalin and succeeded him. But Kruschev, despite being a war hero, didn't understand leninism. And instead proclaimed that class conflict didnt exist in Russia, and under socialism. Which is a fucking lie, that lead Albania and China to swiftly pull away from the USSR and instead become enemies of the USSR state. If this had not happened, we'd all probably be singing the internatuonale by now.
