I think the apocalypse scenarios people like to talk about are the aftermath of WWIII. Which would be a whole other scale.

Texas and Oklahoma would become prime time beach.
Houston would be gone though.

That's the mistake people make in the discussion. As it becomes more expensive or risky to try and hold back the waters, people would tend to move inland.
