my brother uses a 2i2 and gets noise on his cheap bm 800 mic, but my mackie onyx doesnt. buy it new so it can be returned if it has issues with your mic

does the 2i2 go above the ~16-19v phantom power some interfaces are limited to? i might buy one as a second interface since it's half the price of the mackie onyx

dynamic range is a lot lower than the onyx though
