@Tejiu The Gecko Surely all the best debates are one-sided?
Is that a shark with a gun?
I like it
<@183720042003693568> Which species of dinosaur?
The real turkey-sized ones, or the huge door-opening bad boys from Jurassic Park?
Crop dusting, fire fighting, fuel dumping or the fake ones?
Then no, I have no knowledge of those.
No wonder I can't walk to my shed
And, apparently, nuclear silos
Bit of a contradiction there. I agree with your 2nd and 3rd statements though
I don't think anyone disputes that, but the idea is that it's either spherical (actually oblate spheroidal with surface contours) or flat (actually flat with surface contours)
Discounting the other even weirder possibilities that are occasionally thrown into the mix
<@450367189065924612> People who value truth and knowledge?
In the grand scheme of things almost nothing matters, but meaning is defined by us as individuals.
Why would the server be furry?
Did I just see the claim that a model means it's fake?
No, you don't. The speed of light in a medium is known to change, but in a vacuum it's constant
@Tejiu The Gecko Nah, just addressing some of the more egregious errors.
@Human Sheeple By having only an infinitesimal gradient of pressure.
It's not a difficult concept
In essence you're looking at a pressure gradient which approaches zero the further out you go, but never actually reaches zero.
@Drewski4343 I don't think it's ever been seriously claimed that drain direction is a result of coriolis, at least not in science.
@GreenPixel He did seem to utterly abandon his points as soon as I gave an answer.
@Human Sheeple Atmospheric pressure is basically just the weight of air above a reference point, so you get pressure by having air and weight. Easy enough
The straight pole thing is clearly distorted
This is the "it looks flat, therefore it's flat" fallacy
Sunrise and sunset beg to differ
On a flat earth the sun could never set, and would, at best, appear from a very northward point in the sky even at the equator during equinox
Reality has that sun rise and set at due east and due west instead of northwards, therefore measuring curvature
Does anyone else get the distinct feeling that flat earthers are all just trolling?
Again, you can see that horizon curving up, i.e. it's been distorted.
It's really sad that even the "it looks flat" fallacy fails miserably
Youtube is under no obligation to act as a publication platform for anyone's nonsense.
@Drewski4343 This sort of idiocy isn't good for society as a whole though. Debate things, sure, learn about them, sure, but put out videos claiming that the earth is flat, i.e. stating it as fact without any credible evidence? I can see why Youtube doesn't want a part of that.
@Human Sheeple Well you just love to spout BS, don't you?
Flat Earthers deserve to be censored. As do anti-vaxers.
@Drewski4343 Indeed it is
We don't have to censor it at all. It's funny though ๐
Especially when nutjobs treat the decision by a private company not to promote pseudoscience as a form of "proof" of their pseudoscience.
@Human Sheeple Bless, you think that's a good point, don't you?
@Human Sheeple That question makes literally no sense
It's like saying "that building over there, what are its dependent and independent variables? What about that cat? What about mine??"
@Human Sheeple Don't bother, I definitely don't need "educating" by the likes of you.
