Because the heat is collecting on the transparent glass in front of the sun causing a thermal expansion bulge and stellar aberration is lightening a lensing effect of the bumpy glass surface.

An object CAN NOT be lifted arbitrarily like this due to refraction. Refraction pushes objects down, meaning this boat is really HIGHER in altitude if refraction's effect is more than we thought.
