but @H8mz88 was questioning how the "globe" earth was formed if gravity existed
yeah
"how is the globe earth formed"
so?
i just explained it to you
the reason I use gravity as a way to challenge the flat earth theory is because it's a sound theory, and hasn't been disproven yet
you're welcome, i guess
propaganda?
and forced downwards where?
so what about the sun then?
and that's a similar theory to gravity, but without the universal application that gravity has
how does it move?
if you say it does
and what about the other planets?
and the moon?
ah
i'll be honest, it's impossible to completely debunk the idea of a flat earth
of course not
but i've seen both
and the "round" earth theory gives a perfectly legitimate explanation for how they move
yeah
it's just that to me, the round earth theory seems more supported
but you can't completely prove either beyond doubt
short of us all going to space and seeing the earth from there
it's the same with religion
which is why it's far harder for an athiest to believe in the flat earth theory
i was just wondering how you supported your beliefs
*right*
*my bad*
*should have checked the description*
yeah
the round earth theory is supported by science as well
same here
it's interesting
it is
it's interesting to know why people think what they do as well
ie. why the earth is flat
we were just discussing if the earth was flat
and why/why not
sorry?
yeah
yeah
all true
it's just what a lot of flat earthers say to justify their "hypothesis"
huh?
huh
nice
but everything is based on possibility
what you believe is almost always based on what makes most sense
obviously
i'm not a flat earther
to them it does
obviously, to most people, a globe earth makes far more sense
because of gravity and all that
but they're all theories technically
which is why we can't *prove* it without actually going to space
exactly
well
*many* things
but yeah
you could even say that
technically, i guess
true
but it's all a matter of perspective
the different is that priest didn't back up their words with some form of evidence
or at least logical explanations
yeah
exactly
science has accounted for so many developments in the world that claiming that it's all "a lie" makes no sense
what is?
that science is false?
or a lie?
i have used them before
gravity is a pretty good one for a start
i've already had a debate about this
if you really want, i can explain it all again
ok
and besides, the main point was that many flat earthers use "scientists lying" as an argument to deflect any valid argument relating to science
*good question*
*so*
*should trump be impeached?* (supposedly the question of the day)
yeah
as do i
that's true
sorry?
that's funny, considering that most flat earthers i've come across use religion as a defence when science and logic fails them
alright then
gravity
so?
it's not though
but they were named long ago
the wars?
hang on
what is this debate about?
the war or the earth?
ah
ah
right
but just because theories may have been created by religious figures, it doesn't mean that they haven't been expanded on and made more feasible
huh?
