OK this has not much to do with whats being discussed so sorry about that, but i just am looking for the fast advice from someone who can look at it without the same biases as other people. I'm an American, still in high school, and i want to go be a programmer when i finish. HOWEVER the military is a thing that does exist, and after a certain amount of time, they stop wanting you, which is why its really big for people to join right after high school. I think I should at least join for the minimum time as a service to my country, but I'm torn, and thought I'd ask someone who doesn't have the same biases as someone who might know me irl. Sorry to any mods/admins if this goes against the rules, just let me know if it does and I'll delete it. but what do you guys think? should I look into the military for my country (not to mention my family has almost all been military at some point, I don't wanna be the odd one out) or stick to living as a normal person, college, work, death or however the cycle goes. also sorry for the length and any spelling errors
