Like there was MORE of it than they expected?
Well...not exactly that's not true.
Things we're happening like they expected there was just more happening than was expected.
When you can make accurate predictions its pretty proven. And when your precautions are innacurate you can correct it without having to modify your base assumptions its also still correct.
Also do you believe that I can design a bridge on my computer that will be structurally sound? Because do you actually think they just build bridges and hope they don't fall down?
Math is cool. All languages are cool, man.
@Derek Nelson I'm still waiting to see if you actually care what the guy in the video you posted said. He did say the words "gravity is an illusion". I'll give you that. But I understand what he meant. Can you point me to a place where he said spacetime doesn't curve?
Because gravity is a curving of spacetime. That's what's *happening*. Spacetime is curving *for some reason*. I don't care what you call it as long as that's happening Einstein's models are true. He just didn't know what it was that was causing spacetime to curve. So I must have missed it when Erik said spacetime isn't being curved.
Do you find it ridiculous that I think the universe is expanding faster than the speed of light? So you think that's a problem because nothing can go faster than light?
I'm asking you...do you think something can go faster than the speed of light? Because the speed of light is a property of spacetime. Not light. So if there's no spacetime why does light have a speed?
Light has a speed...so something gives it that speed.
And the word for that something is spacetime.
Like you want proof for spacetime as it's described? That's not how it works. Spacetime wasn't invented and then we went looking for it. We observed a thing doing stuff. We described what it was doing and called the thing spacetime.
*then* we went looking for things that worked the way we expected based on what we thought spacetime was.
@Derek Nelson How much curviture should we see?
