Doesn’t it seem a little counter intuitive to be pro police and also pro 2A. I mean who do you think is gonna come for our guns when it’s time

Door to door they would no doubt be sending in local police. Not enough ATF agents

Police are known to follow orders regardless of whether or not they are unconstitutional or not and if they go for bans or something similar on a state level (like it usually is) because they can’t ever get anything passed federally it would no doubt be local police

Not many of our gun laws are federal

It’s mostly all state

And police have been shown to be more likely to comply than even military have

There are so many infringements upon the second amendment already

Every single gun law is an infringement

Background checks, waiting periods l, magazine limits

It’s why the 2A has the clause “shall not be infringed”

Sounds like an NRA statement, willing to sell or rights to be “safe” from them banning guns outright

It’s a lie and only done by profiteers such as the NRA

Someone who served there time has no reason not to receive their rights back

If they aren’t safe to be on the street they never should have been freed

I thought you guys agreed guns don’t make people dangerous. And as far as I know a freed person should only be freed if they are no longer dangerous

Okay and when do you feel someone has proven they deserve them. Because in my book if they haven’t proven it why are they walking free

So why release what is already a dangerous person in society according to this logic

That’s why this needs to coexist with better prison systems that focus on rehabilitation instead of punishment

There are many people on extremely minor drug charges that received felonies and can not longer own firearms in any way for the rest of their lives

Background checks are a huge infringement

It’s very dumb because that’s not even a violent crime

It’s all about doing whatever they can to remove guns so without trying to pass federal laws that can’t get passed

Such as a buyback

So what you’re saying is we should permanently remove someone’s god given right even after they have served their time and are deemed safe for society

If they are released from prison it’s definitely because the law finds them to be safe for society

I believe prison should be solely rehabilitation

Punishment isn’t productive

Now punishment may be needed for rehabilitation but the primary focus should be rehabilitation
