I don't understand how you guys think Trump is still in the right here! Like he literally led people to the Capitol and said he'd be right there with them, then he went to the W.H. to watch everything unfold. What would have happened if the mob actually got into the offices where the congresspeople were!? There would have been murders, then the verification of electors could not continue, and Trump would try to maintain his power without getting ANY vote certified (because that would require every state that already certified, to un-certify their votes, which would never happen). How can you still, even after this, be on that man's side? Don't get me wrong, I hate all the slimy politicians that you do, but this isn't on the level of "rumor has it that X politician planned Y terrible thing", it's all on video and I watched both the rally and aftermath, this is real, dark, authoritarian strong man shit going on. He even threw every one of his supporters that stormed the Capitol under the bus in that last speech he gave, a day after he released a speech calling them all "very special" people that he "loves". I genuinely think Trump did something unforgivable. I expected to find people going crazy about it here, but dissapointingly all the posts are just the same old shit... "Pelosi is terrible and look at this rumor about her possible conspiracy". No shit Pelosi is shitty, regardless of the validity of the rumors... Are NONE of you seriously considering that Trump's rally caused all of this and that potentially losing congresspeople's lives on the night of the vote certification could maybe be a bad thing!? It does not get more clear than this folks.

I understand the power and importance of free thought, don’t patronize me because you assume I watched certain news. I do however weigh educated guess over more... abstract guesses. For example you may think this was set up by ANTIFA because it is going to strengthen their base. I may say this was set up by Trump and his associates because there is video evidence of Trump saying to march to the Capitol and be strong and never concede, while Giulliani was right next to him saying more fighting words. Plus, IF security did NOT stop the mob, Trump would have benefited a lot, it just failed, so he doesn’t see that benefit. I am aware that rhetoric affects behavior of supporters and I based my guess on what I saw, so my “guess” seems more reasonable.

Opening the gates is a form of crowd control when a mob is pushing. Now as to how I think Trump should have done the rally to get the “best outcome”. He shouldn’t have held it. He had two months to “stop the steal”, that was his time to “ensure the best outcome”, a rally at this time and with the rhetoric he used was not going to accomplish anything beyond more hate and violence.

I genuinely, fully understand storming the capitol... if I was absolutely certain that the government has rigged a democratic election, however since 60+ court cases failed, I do not believe it. You have the same info and only believe it because everyone is telling you it’s true and obvious, but the courts and all major world leaders and congress and even Pence now are saying the election was NOT rigged. I believe that against the word of a single Administration and it’s followers.

But even Trump’s OWN judges dismissed the cases, does that not mean anything?

The cases were not dismissed before looking at the evidence, but I have seem many of the dismissals, by Trump appointed judges, they WERE dismissed because of a LACK of evidence. Look up hearsay

Small thing, but Alex Jones is not a reliable source for breaking things down. I have watched episodes where he uses a normal human voice, but he still has bouts of insanity and I don’t trust him. As for the other sources, the NYT article is based on a source that recognized them, but just *believes* they are right: “The infiltrators were recognized due to their participation in New York City demonstrations, and were believed to have joined in the rioting so that Trump would get blamed, the source said.” And then then end of the article calls out how the Washington Times article was false and misleading. The NewsMax article has a quote from the Rep. that the article is based on saying this: ““Now, whether these people who did the actual violence were antifa, or antifa plus Trump supporters, or only Trump supporters, or anarchists, or somebody else, we really need to wait until an investigation has been conducted, and not jump to conclusions when the evidence is incomplete.”” Then the videos of people saying “no Antifa”, how does that prove anything? Because some people saw others breaking windows and started chanting? That doesn’t mean the people were actually a part of antifa, it’s just that the chanters were more sensible than the ppl breaking windows and started booing the window breakers. And finally the last one doesn’t even prove the dude was a dem, he just didn’t vote. And that’s assuming the tweet was true fact even tho it just shows an excel sheet that is severely clipped. I’m not saying it’s false, just that it doesn’t prove he was antifa or anything, if it is true. Now before you respond, hear me out: I will believe anything, if there is enough evidence to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. Currently, the evidence makes me believe it was almost all Trump supporters causing mayhem at the capitol. I mean ultimately we have to wait, I just don’t think this evidence is substantial enough.

I think it was most likely a mix of extremists at the front lines (Q, PBs, maybe actors idk), then the VAST majority of ppl just kinda followed the crowd until they were standing in the capitol, and none of them understood wtf they were doing there.
