I don't know about the sxs but the o/u last about 4,000 rounds in my experience and are very stiff guns.

Check it out make sure there is no rust especially in the barrel. And make sure the firing pins are intact because they tend to break on stoger o/u if they are not taken care of. If it all checks out tell him you will give him $300 for it.
