!agree
Well that escalated
I feel like that's a defence mechanism for most people. They have a perceived ideal of how things are and instead of allowing that to be challenged, they shut down anything that might counter their comfort zone.
School often favors regurgitation, it's how well you can mimic what your teacher believes
Honestly, you learn really well how to tell people what they want to hear and that's just an invaluable skill
Once you allow yourself to emotionally ignore facts for one topic, it gets really easy just to apply that to everything. and now that people can just find other people with the same thoughts and feelings so easily online, there's no incentive to try and reason things out
why challenge your views with people around you if you can just find people who already share the same thoughts
It's a double edged sword, tech can help people expand past what they know
or it can cause them to just associate with the same people
@Paradox Look at Megan Phelps, her involvement on twitter for the westborough baptist church actually caused her to accept different ideologies after time and she left
Well she just came across people that were willing to debate with her and it gave her a more open mind set
yes
But on the opposite side you'll see people that don't want their ideas challenged just seek out more people like themselves. So extreme left, extreme right, incel groups.. people like that don't want to be challenged
Agreed
Emotions make up everything people do though. Very few people can remove emotion from everything they encounter. I think people just need to do a better job being aware of when they're having an emotional bias
@Paradox Well you seem to not have the issue so maybe you just can't sympathize with it as a concept?
Yeah I think we all agreed on that
Agreed
Anything to just point holes in his story
How do you feel about the use of the word Ethical?
wow
Hi
AHA
Scientifically it's the shedding of the uterine lining. The education system has failed you all
@oprahsminge well that's an interesting fetish
I wouldn't say it's offensive, literally just something that to body couldn't use that it's disposing of
if someone finds it offensive they're looking for reasons to be offended, which is 2018
@CreativeRealms I don;t think anyone did
@oprahsminge I'm at work so I kinda just keep an eye on the chat sometimes and keep up on my server
not in the slightest
Buzzfeed gets REALLY bad with the bait videos. But there's like, 4-6 different sections of Buzzfeed
