When i did voluntary work with the german army in Lorraine, France we did find a hell of alot of still functional MG42's + ammo for it

A full auto Mg42 here in Bavaria is only allowed to be owned if you are a "certified collector" or inherited the MG42. But if you wanna buy a real one and are a collector you gotta pay about 40.000 Euros which is like 50.000 USD i believe

Here a rusty (typical conditon of weapons we recover each summer) MG 42 with the ammo belt still attached we found not too long ago. Always wanted to full-auto fire one of these because i only know what they feel like from my grandfathers

In Germany we have an area (Hürtgen Forest) of which 75% isn't open to enter because it's still full of mostly german Version 2 S-Mines (American: Bouncing Betty Mines) made of glass which can't be detected by metal detectors and therefor mage most of the Hürtgen Forest too dangerous to set foot in

American Artillery Shell i stumbled across recently just west of Metz in Lorraine, France. It's amazing how much unused ammo all sides left behind instead of picking up between 1943-1945

True that. I used to help american WW2 veterans tour the Hürtgen Forest in north west Germany, before i was allowed to do that i had to finish my education in the german military regarding explosives and similar items

IF THIS IS CONSIDERED "GORE" feel free to delete it MODS! - over here it's not because it's old and a skeleton. But this is an american soldier of the 70th US Inf DIvision who fought near Metz in Autumn 1944 and we have recovered and identified (and contacted the family members) in October 2017. This soldiers sister was very happy we found her brother and buried him at the US cemetary in St. Avold. She was 87 when we contacted her. (This is all voluntary work btw because for some reason no Allied nations nor Axis nations pay and take care of the WW2 MIA soldiers.
