Yuck, do not watch Naruto or Bleach, watch something better....

my eyes

STDs, collapse of gender relations, or incurable disease are much more likely population reducers.

??? Uh no lol

what are you talkin about man lol

two weeks without power is not enough to cause mass murder over resources

Plenty enough food to ration for two weeks, additionally if the grid went out due to something long-lasting like a solar flare I would be the first one to the grocery store piling up the canned goods.

Lol, I do not see the point on stocking up on food due to a fringe paranoia. At least not the the extremes. I have guns, and with my academic background/hobbies I am not running out of homebrewed booze or clean water anytime soon. That will always hold bartering value.

Lol, duh, that is why you own guns?

What is the point of stocking up supplies if you do not have the capability to protect them.

Ya for sure, but not the first day

additionally renewable resources>stocked supplies imo

BT no one is funding their own separate society

And if everything went to shit to the point power was what mattered it would be mob rule or a dictatorship.

@๏ผฃ๏ผฒ๏ผฏ๏ผก๏ผด lol wouldn't you, when they are the only group that will not result in you being put on full blast for bullying

@BigTyrone You would essentially have to isolate a small community of people and engage in sustainable hermit like lifestyles.

@BigTyrone Because if it is not isolated from society how the heck can you establish your own minimalist government? Over throw the current lol?

@BigTyrone Yes but when/if it collapses, it will be mob rule or mini dictatorship like communities. When all hell breaks lose no one is going to circle jerk ideals with you and fund a liberalist society.

@BigTyrone My point is it is either not feasible, or has to be executed in an unpleasant way.

@Xychotic Ya but a community would need to be isolated from our corrupt government in order for that to occur.

@Xychotic That would demand that all forms of government law enforcement be members of the community in a secret society type manner. Additionally, how would you deal with taxes and overreaching government policies.

@Xychotic The point I am making is that the only way this would be feasible, would be an isolated self sustainable society. However, unless things truly go to shit I do not believe it is worth sacrificing an enjoyable lifestyle for perceived freedom for a corrupt but currently tolerable government.

I can agree with prepping, however it would be more beneficial to establish an information network of individuals in close proximity with valuable skillsets

@Leif_Ericksson99 Is his life style pleasant? Could it support a large amount of people? Does he rely on assistance from normal society?

@Xychotic I agree, I think that would honestly be more valuable. Example: my background is in chemical engineering and physics. One of my cousins is an electrical engineer and spent a year surviving in the woods by himself/is an eagle scout. If we had a few educated people and had to construct something from the ground up i think we could.

@Leif_Ericksson99 Talking to only one person and spending all your free time hunting and trapping sounds like a miserable lifelong existence.

@Xychotic That is untrue, no matter the problem someone who can parse workloads in an efficiency optimized manner is invaluable.

@BigTyrone Because even the most enjoyable things can become bland with time, or tiring if they fill your entire existence. Hunting and trapping is cool, but imagine every day spending all your time hunting and trapping just to eat, have meaningless conversation with the same person, and go to bed. People seriously underestimate how many forms of stimuli they would miss if put in the situation of life long off the grid isolation.

@Leif_Ericksson99 Depends on the type of event. Personally, I think the most likely cataclysmic event would be due to some sort incurable ailment which arises from our current over usage of antibacterial agents. If disease wipes out the majority of wildlife, or environmental destruction does he will be impacted.

@Xychotic I disagree highly, look at the recent epidemics super STDS. Additionally the current amount of genetic engineering capability we have regarding simple bacteria such as e-coli could be downright deadly now, and exponentially more so further down the line and put to nefarious use.

@Xychotic We are currently heading towards the ability to make proteins using glyco-engineered e-coli that can replicate proteins with human like glycosylation. Thus I fear regarding the current level the secretly developed bioweapons have reached.

Depends, could be a chain reaction resulting from collapse of mammalian life. If your goal is to be off the grid and as safe as possible I feel like sustainable isolated island is the way to go.

@Xychotic It is far from that simple to handle something like that lol. Especially if we make breakthroughs regarding utilizing genes from archaebacteria. Try destroying something that can live in a bloody volcano.

Best place to survive imo will always be an off the grid island with sustainable living conditions and adequately stocked medical necessities.

@Xychotic I am not really worried about it, I just think the the majority of the concerns people use to justify going off and living a miserable sustainable existence in the middle of nowhere are silly.

It does not need to be miserable, but it most likely will be. No, I do not think city life is so great. But I need to expand my mind regularly, play piano, go to the gym, and though I am highly introverted I need some semblance of social interaction once in a blue moon.

Setting up a sustainable off the grid existence, that would not be miserable requires you to have a lot of money, and a lot of likeminded friends.

Lol, where would you set up your existence if that is the case? And how would you keep people quiet? Would you build all the sustainable implements yourself.

If you want to take the cabin in the middle of the woods in the US, that is fine. However, it certainly would not be far enough off the grid to protect you against many of the doomday events we have discussed.

If it is simply building a sustainable solar powered cabin, with a sustainable food and water even I could do that. But why isolate yourself if you will not isolate yourself such to survive the scenarios you are afraid of?

Additionally, there is inherent psychological and physical risk to being totally isolated. What if you get injured? Additionally what about ecosystem shifts removing your foodsources?

Additionally, what about old age and its impact on your survival capabilities if you are required to hunt for food.

Your could argue that who wants to live that long, I do not care for living until my 80s or anything.

But then if that is the case why would you rather isolate yourself so your survive alone in your 60s, vs ride towards socieal collapse banging a different chick every weekend and indulging in good food, entertainment, and friends.

Personally, I think things are not going to hit the fan before I am at least middle aged. And I am 21 at the moment. Things might be temporarily bad, but I do not think a isolated living style like that will shine until I'm at least in my early 40s. I would rather enjoy ~20 years of living large with my salary as a thankfully decent looking bachelor.

I mean honestly, I feel like you either need to go off the grid in advance like asap. Or if serious enough shit hits the fan that would make it worth it, you will likely die during the exodus.

But then what if you go off the grid, and nothing super serious happens until you are an old fuck (which I think is likely) and you just end up wasting your entire life.

@SuperNothing If you have no seen his video on Musashi, I would highly recommend it. Probably my favorite.

Lol, we understand stars decently thoroughly to my understanding.

How to conceptualize space is something i struggle with, and want to delve deeper into personally.

highschool dxd is trash

lame protagonist

if you want fanservice shows highschool of the dead is legit superior in every wau

I do not watch shows for the fan service primarily lol. A little is nice once in awhile though. But my favorite animes do not really have any.

requiem for phantom, berserk, and hajime no ippo

are 3 of my favorite shows

pretty much 0 fan service

I mean sex sells, I have no trouble with some fan service mixed into a great show like hellsing

However, shows centered around fanservice are typically a no go for me

spring break starts for me this friday, how about you guys?

hey man, don't talk shit about anime

my katana don't fuck around son

ya bc you probably be watching trashhh son

lol same, I burned myself out with league

now I'm just playing skyrim, writing, and occasionally I will download and play a pokemon game on pc

downloading ultra moon rn

@SageBones I believe human action is driven primarily by base biological principles, essentially biological determinism. However, I do not think morals are entirely arbitrary. If you look at mammals, those who live in packs have some level of societal structure. Additionally, most animals will not engage in pointless murder or cannibalization of their own. Thus, I think the foundation of all moral systems lies in avoiding behaviors that most animals refuse to engage in.

@Heraklines It is really interesting to think about how little we know. I love having conversations with people about basic science, like how a fridge works, or why getting out of a pool that is the same temp as the air makes you feel cold, or why the sky is blue. Because it is always interesting seeing peoples reaction when they realize that they understand almost nothing regarding that which surrounds them. Most people do not really think about that kind of stuff, obviously I understand like maybe .000000000000001% more than those people, but from time to time it is an interesting endeavor to consider my surroundings from base principles.

@SageBones It depends how you consider morals. I do not view morals as something altruistic. Almost like an unspoken deal carried out in various cultures, and rooted primarily in biological instinct. Typically a wolf will not kill another wolf for absolutely no reason, maybe over food or dominance, but not pointlessly. This could be looked at the most basic foundation of morality IMO.

I think we can resist it, but never totally eliminate a lot of typically male behaviors due to how deeply biologically ingrained they are.

Also, I would be happy to move to voice chat so I quit textwalling general like an absolute fuck. I really would like to go on one of hermits call in sessions, if he is still having them. However, you have to be careful as fuck, I can't afford to get kicked out as a junior in university and a friend of mine was reported for hate speech by someone living in the room next to his. You really cannot be too careful.

Lol no, but the college environment is insane at some universities. My friend happened to live next to a transgender sjw type, hairy dude who wears fucking short skirts. This creepy as guy fucking filed a complaint (cant remember the department, but we have a set report network for "discrimination") over him saying some "locker room talk" type shit about women.

Walls are thin in some of the older dorms, personally I had to meet with the fucking diversity councilor once already due to someone seeing some offensive memes on a display board when doing a walkthrough of the hall I lived in at the time. .

@Heraklines Also, one of my good friends was falsely accused of sexual assault and basically fled back to china (international student) by some crazy Chinese bitch who was upset he wouldn't date her. She probably wanted in on his families money. Also, two of my friends were threatened with accusations by girls they hooked up with for refusing to date them. It is scary in university rn lol, thankfully all I do is grind classwork and do research as of late.

There are plenty of land mines, all three of the people i mentioned are PUA types. I have basically resorted to a few FWB from when I used to have time to party 3-4 times a week with the PUA crowd. Basically, if you bang 2 new chicks every weekend it will not be long before you hit a career ending landmine IMO.

Dude, you should have seen it here when trump won. People were crying half the fucking night and they had a bunch of free counseling and safe spaces for like the next month. Meanwhile I spent that night fucking cramming for an exam while watching for election results.

Like, I'm not even a massive fan of Trump, I have plenty I dislike but also a fair amount I like. However, seeing the sheer chaos the unfolded upon campus post Trump win was absolutely divine.

It is insane, and is almost like a cult. They cannot form any sort of logically reasoned worldview. Everything they say is nothing but moral posturing coming from a toxic system of group identity>individualism.

I think this will naturally collapse when universities collapse. Hopefully that will be reasonably soon, due to rising university prices and the advent of digitalized learning. I mean what around 80% of people in the united states go to college. Most of them come out dumber than when they enter, and cannot get jobs with their easy worthless degrees. It has to collapse at some point due to sheer uselessness.

Lol, if you do not put your dong over the event horizon you will not get a suck. But if you do, you get the longest dick physically possible based upon your initial size.

@SageBones Ya, I have a cousin who is a linesman. He makes around 90k-100k I think, and loves the physical work. Personally, I think unless you are doing engineering, programming, finance, or plan on getting a PhD in some type of science, university is a bad route.

@Heraklines What field? And yep, I find literally everything I need online. University literally feels like I am just teaching myself everything.

@Heraklines I miss a shit ton of lectures due to sickness from stress and insomnia, or simply not caring to go to CS lectures when I can teach myself. Really need to get my sleep schedule in check.

anyone here play spellbreak?

yo anyone here play spellbreak?

Skyrim yeeted my social life into oblivion

Why is that a bad thing? I'm glad it is almost the weekend.
