Regarding the point made earlier about truth: Considering 'white lies' and 'half-truths' to not be lies seems to be a universal logical fallacy and 'sin' in the realm of conversation and the manifestation of ideas and opinions, independent of religious doctrines and the potential repercussions therein, perhaps it would be most socially constructive to advocate for the sovereignty of the truth in terms of the morality of negotiation and co-operation between people of conflicting viewpoints in the pursuit of reducing as much unjust suffering experienced by all people as possible, regardless of religious belief?
Does that make sense or do I need to do more thinking regarding that point?
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions regarding my comment @ 11:09?
@๐พ๐๐๐๐ ๐น๐๐ ๐ญ๐ ๐ด๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ Do you have any ideas as to how truth could be taught to be valued (particularly in a noble manner), provided you are completely convinced that it cannot be?
@Fitzydog Do you know how the moral value of truth engrained in Europe 3000 years ago if you can't teach someone to value truth?
@Fitzydog Was the value of truth not taught to the people of Europe through Greek philosophy? Do you think that maybe the value of truth is a universal constant and the faction of Greek philosophy concerned with truth merely informed people of that which they knew to be true but never knew how to accurately articulate and act upon?
@Fitzydog I'm just trying to figure out what the nature of truth is and why there are cultures which value truth more than others. I just want to know what other people think so I can find a better understanding of the matter. Sorry if my questioning came across as passive-aggressive.
@Fitzydog I'll put it in my Reading List. Thanks for the conversation, got to go now, see you.
