Someone tell Blonde that ancaps believe in private borders and libertarians who want open borders genuinely don't know what they're talking about
Also all financial corporations aren't private corporations and are effectively arms of government given the high level of micromanagerial control the government already has
"Official libertarianism" is a bunch of subverted bugman hippie nonsense that has no logically consistent philosophy behind it
E.g. the libertarian party
If I'm remembering correctly the libertarian party is big 'L'
Groups of people voluntarily associating in an exclusive manner theoretically doesn't violate the NAP
It might have an actual philosophy and I was being excessively snarky sorry
It is probably bugman hippie nonsense for a lot of people because masses of people don't all have the time or inclination to do philosophy in a perfectly careful way
Not that anyone does philosophy perfectly and I'm not sure what that would even mean
>Wait so what is libertarian supposed to mean
It doesn't mean the same thing to all people who identify as libertarian
Wikipedia says "Libertarianism is a collection of political philosophies and movements that uphold liberty as a core principle" and I guess that's a good enough approximate definition
The pedantic answer to that would be "not really"
Maybe a good way to explain it to people who are new
"Within the law" implies it's not a critique on the law itself if it's an unjust law
You could say approximately "people should be able to do what they want as long as it doesn't violate another person's property rights" where violating property rights means violence, theft, violating a contract maybe
For capitalist libertarians
There are commie libertarians who consider libertarianism to mean the elimination of all hierarchies and inequalities and that means the elimination of private property rights, I think
Where private property rights are replaced with cooperative collective ownership of the means of production
Without state enforcement somehow magically
I think both kinds of libertarians believe in voluntary collectives
I could be wrong about the left-anarchists, but ancaps definitely believe ancoms should be able to make their own commune if they feel like
As long as the commune isn't violating another person's property rights

The individualism/collectivism dichotomy confuses me because collectives can be voluntary sometimes
@Salacious Swanky Cat That's what Hoppean restrictive covenant communities are for
People can sign a contract to make a community where they exclude degenerates however they want to define degeneracy, it's where the "physical removal" meme originated
But physical removal doesn't mean killing anyone it just means excluding them from the contract
Left-libertarians believe Hoppe is a secret fascist nazi devil iirc
He's literally just an anarcho-capitalist
@Shadows Your mom is fun, and by fun I mean horribly misguided
I skimmed this, it might be a good explainer https://mises.org/wire/can-libertarians-have-communal-property
