you had to qualify CLS
because that game had smelling salts
and fuckin TQs and shit
yeah
qualify to use thermal grenades
America's Army was where I learned to love CLS classes tbh
in video games
you had to take classes to get a foregrip remember?
yep
and a fuckin good mission it was
yeah that shit was the worst
I always tried that
and always died
because people just run to the other side and chuck nades
and you have nowhere to go
yeah
because they're on the side of the bridge's tower
on the staircase
damn all these years later
I'm realizing the OPFOR gun for AA3 is basically just a full RIS galil ACE
yeah the ADS in that game took a ton of time too
like
to pull up
dude another butthole puckering map
like
2-3 story urban shitholes with open windows
AAV
America's Army Five
lmao
Announced in 2018 with a 3 year development cycle apparently
I think that's the bus one yeah
yeah
AA3 is when they made up the fake nation
because
"they didn't want you to ever have the potential to kill an american soldier"
before that it was kinda unexplained why both sides were american
but when you killed them they dropped AKs that were significantly different than what they were shooting lol
yeah
AA3 is when everyone got Comp M4s
1 and 2 were basically the same game
then SF was a expansion
then 3 was basically just 2 with a graphical upgrade and no more AKs because they got those weird Galil guns
America's Army definitely kept me interested in military stuff when I was younger
you probably just played 1-3 because it's all practically the same thing
3 is when they added zip cuffs
and you could capture dudes for intel
before then it was just shooting people to death
dude remember if you got votekicked they sent you to Leavenworth?
yep
NO
HONOR
honor was 3
America's Army
it was p. much project reality before project reality came out
that's wild
I mean I'd believe it
the top level CLS course was fucking long
and was rendered in a hospital
that's where I learned the really outdated information about how you only use TQs in the last possible scenario
because that was back before people realized TQs should be a go-to option
general idea back then was that TQs restricted bloodflow and that EMSs wouldn't get people to care rooms fast enough to prevent limb loss
yeah
yep
yeah
tbh the big thing I imagine is that TQs just restrict bloodflow rather than cutting it off completely
might not get as much blood as you need to have regular function but likely can last for a long time because some veins are still pumping thru
biofoam already exists tbh
I hear this shit causes tons of issues tho
but it's been tested for a bit now
XSTAT
could be just like TQs tbh
was basically told that it leaves people "picking out bits of foam from a wound"
XSTAT is basically that?
it's literally a syringe of foam that expands on contact with blood inside the wound
bruh
are you asking for something to becoming solid when it comes in contact with other liquids?
because that's like
not really gonna happen
why would they do that though
that would be stupid
the thing is
if it's liquid
it'll be carried away into the blood stream
kinda like really early powder wound sealants
can't remember the name of it now
just remember it used to be loose
and would burn veins closed
@5W can you remember the name?
quikclot
there we go
OG quikclot was just a powder that caused a lot of deaths
that's why it's impregnated into bandages now
I have some OG quikclot if anyone ever wants to die
yeah
doesn't it still?
I thought the whole point was that it cauterizes the wound chemically
ah
