@Desimated , I would agree that "we" are pack animals at our origins. But something else developed in the midst of this "pack" experience, and in actual lived experience, was always primordial. The "I Am" is the primary. Everything else follows, including labels like 'conservative'. If you say, as you did, that people 'become conservative' - and then they are asking the right questions, and realising the follies of previous thought (which is your clear implication), I suggest this needs to be reigned back. Time to leave the labels for what they are - temporary convenience at best, long term catastrophe, demonstrably, at worst. 'Conservatives' are just as prone to error as any other labelled grouping. We just happen to be at a particular historical moment, imo, when 'conservatism' looks less insane than alternatives. It was not always that way, and it will not always be that way.
