I already encountered one guy who put a fucking 25x scope on a Ruger Mini-14.

He thought that turned it into a sniper.

The Mini-14 isn't exactly known for accuracy

I'd say inside 300 yards, you should be able to hit a decent-sized target

But 25x is way too much scope for anything but a dedicated target rifle.

Yes and no. It'll work and it'll look good, but it's really impractical in this day and age.

You don't want to limit your capacity and speed if you don't have to.

If you like the look of the M1 but want more firepower in an updated package, consider the M1A.

I recommend a decent AR-15 for people who might be unsure of what they need.

Everything is standardized, so parts, mags, accessories and ammo are easy to come by.

I prefer something heavier. Something that someone else can't just pick up and use easily.

I don't like pistol ARs.

The 5.56mm needs a longer barrel for speed, and it needs speed for power.

Unless you get it in .300 Blackout, which can efficiently use as short as an 8" barrel without too much loss of speed.

Specialty ammo like the heavy 77-grain Black Hills stuff works in a shorter tube, but it's spendy.

I dunno. To each his own. I prefer full size, full power.

I've built more guns than I can remember at this point.

I'm interested in learning more about the CZ Scorpion EVO, but I just can't justify pistol-caliber long guns.

HK recently started manufacturing rifles for the military sector chambered in .300 Blackout, so I'm hoping that's an indicator of that cartridge increasing in popularity.

Marinate those in some Italian dressing for a few hours, put some breading on 'em and shallow fry them in some peanut oil.

Melt 8 ounces of cream cheese with a little butter and shred in 8 ounces of whatever cheese you like

Melt it all together and add a little milk to smooth it out

Add half a teaspoon of smoked paprika and cayenne pepper

Goes great on burgers and macaroni

The last time I made this, I also sauteed some onions and mixed those in as well.

As far as cheeses go, I usually do this with smoked gouda

If I use bleu cheese and omit the spices, it makes a good topping for steaks and chicken.
