2019-04-10 15:30:21 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Oh boy

2019-04-10 15:30:48 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Sup guys. I'm Engine. I like to play devil's advocate

2019-04-10 15:31:16 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Center leftist that believes Male privilege is pretty realistic

2019-04-10 15:31:36 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

For the most part.

2019-04-10 15:32:55 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Just to star off introductions: I am a liberal. How I define liberal basically means that I advocate for empowering people to make whatever choices they want to in life so long as it doesn't infringe on the right of others.

2019-04-10 15:33:44 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Yeah probably

2019-04-10 15:34:23 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I don't really subscribe to libertarianism but I get it.

2019-04-10 15:34:40 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I think there are some issues that society and the free market can't solve.

2019-04-10 15:35:40 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

European centrist? Or the American one?

2019-04-10 15:35:49 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Because American centrism is cancer

2019-04-10 15:37:27 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Sure thing

2019-04-10 15:37:31 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Male privilege

2019-04-10 15:37:40 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I think it exists for the most part

2019-04-10 15:40:02 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

It's kind of impossible "quantify" because there isnt one particular source that it comes from.

2019-04-10 15:40:14 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I can give you several reasons as why it exists

2019-04-10 15:40:32 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Same with female privilege, that too also exists in some ways

2019-04-10 15:42:52 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

So privilege is typically a result of how we're socialized. Gender roles inform our society of what we think of the genders. We think men are more independent than women and therefore more capable in some capacity. We think women are always victims to violence, therefore they always win divorce cases. Men had much longer to vote and work than women do so they're raised with different standards. Theres a ton of reasons that are limited to some patriarchal society forcing women down.

2019-04-10 15:43:27 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

It's the same reason systematic racism exists

2019-04-10 15:43:42 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

There isnt some racist smoke filled backroom

2019-04-10 15:43:59 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Its just the system had been set up against black people for a long time

2019-04-10 15:44:01 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Same with women

2019-04-10 15:44:09 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

That's just how I see things.

2019-04-10 15:44:54 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Are you a troll...?

2019-04-10 15:45:28 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

K

2019-04-10 15:46:42 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

So to answer your question, men are seen as more valuable than women by society, they overall make a higher income, theres a ton of socialization that puts them at an advantage over women.

2019-04-10 15:47:58 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Before you go on

2019-04-10 15:48:04 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Can you explain those terms?

2019-04-10 15:48:18 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

In the context of your response I mean

2019-04-10 15:49:25 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Also I already told you, we're socialized into valuing men more than women. Not that long ago men were seen as the workers because they're stronger than women and therefore have more value than a woman that takes care of children

2019-04-10 15:50:09 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Oh really? Please educate me

2019-04-10 15:50:55 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Do you deny the fact that men dominated the private and public sector for decades before the feminist movement?

2019-04-10 15:51:20 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Indigo I think were talking about something else my dude

2019-04-10 15:53:00 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Because their labor is valued more highly than a womans?

2019-04-10 15:53:09 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Are you like trying to make a meme here?

2019-04-10 15:53:25 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Is this a joke?

2019-04-10 15:54:23 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Well you're like totally disregarding my point and are instead talking about female privilege.

2019-04-10 15:54:33 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Which I did not deny

2019-04-10 15:54:38 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

By the way

2019-04-10 15:55:27 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

So did you want to have a discussion or are you just trolling?

2019-04-10 15:57:09 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Yeah but you keep jumping between them. We need to go over each thing one at a time. When I talk about labor, you cant just jump to violence. That's not how a reasonable conversation works.

2019-04-10 15:57:36 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Male and female privilege is really all encompassing my dude

2019-04-10 15:57:55 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Sup dude. I'm a libtard fighting the bad fight.

2019-04-10 15:58:57 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Labor.

2019-04-10 15:59:41 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Okay!

2019-04-10 15:59:55 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

So you would agree!

2019-04-10 16:00:49 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Dude I totally get you. Then we agree that in some cases men have an advantage over women in certain professions

2019-04-10 16:01:49 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

You just said, "It would depend on the labor,"

2019-04-10 16:01:54 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

So we agree.

2019-04-10 16:02:00 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Good job dude!

2019-04-10 16:02:51 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I mean shit that's primarily marketed to men like computer sciences or something

2019-04-10 16:03:54 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Do you acknowledge that a man's labor and capability is valued more than a womans?

2019-04-10 16:05:17 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

"Boys are stronger and smarter than girls, therefore..."

2019-04-10 16:05:50 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Their value is.....

2019-04-10 16:05:59 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Come on! You can do it!

2019-04-10 16:07:45 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

When society values the labor of men over women, then they're at an advantage predicated on gender.

2019-04-10 16:07:48 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Therefore....

2019-04-10 16:07:56 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Male privilege

2019-04-10 16:08:03 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

They got something women don't

2019-04-10 16:08:48 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I don't subscribe to naturalistic science being the deciding factor of my life decisions

2019-04-10 16:09:02 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Just because we are a certain way doesnt mean we have to be.

2019-04-10 16:09:22 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I don't believe gender is real so

2019-04-10 16:09:44 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Yeah

2019-04-10 16:09:47 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

They are

2019-04-10 16:10:12 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Every time I bring this up i just get dunked on

2019-04-10 16:10:27 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I believe in them, sure.

2019-04-10 16:11:03 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

In terms of there being binary sexes, yeah sure

2019-04-10 16:12:01 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I just said I believe in binary sexes. That appears to be a recurring phenomenon in human.s

2019-04-10 16:12:19 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Now, whether or not your sex determines your gender is whole other discussion

2019-04-10 16:14:05 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Oh my I'm being double teamed.

Okay. So. Having your worth be my valuable to society is like textbook systematic sexism. Not overt, it just means the system is stacked against women.

2019-04-10 16:14:54 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

One at a time please, my butthole can only take so much

2019-04-10 16:17:04 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I don't think the sexes are the same biologically

2019-04-10 16:17:13 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

But I don't see any difference between men and women

2019-04-10 16:17:41 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Not really

2019-04-10 16:17:53 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Gender is a social construct my dude

2019-04-10 16:18:01 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

It's just some make believe crap.

2019-04-10 16:18:18 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Some yeah.

2019-04-10 16:18:25 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

And some men are weaker than women.

2019-04-10 16:20:12 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

The whole point of promoting equality is to get rid of this notion that there differences between men and women. Other than physical traits, you can't actually explain a difference between them other than what was socialized through years of living with each other.

2019-04-10 16:20:26 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Girls don't have to wear pink but we tell them to

2019-04-10 16:20:33 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Men don't have to do hard labor

2019-04-10 16:20:57 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I DIDN'T SAY THERE WEREN'T PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES

2019-04-10 16:21:11 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

I said there weren't differences between the GENDERS

2019-04-10 16:21:31 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

Other than the gender roles society makes up

2019-04-10 16:22:19 UTC [Men's Human Rights #lounge]

If you say men are strong- okay
