The modern public square is now on the internet, clustered on privately owned platforms. To be *SYSTEMATTICALLY COLLUDED AGAINST AND VIRTUALLY EXECUTED* is a detriment to the democratic process in a healthy, functioning republic.
What happenes when your bank, and even Visa starts to drop customers for wrongthink?
Trusting private companies to abide to societal norms by themselves and to care for the people and not their own interests is quite a leap
Companjes do what benefits their pockets
Fuck off back to the soviet-bloc hell hole you climbed out of
Jesus
This will just go into a creation of two separated ideological places on the internet
Same goes for things like Visa
A conservative alternaive will emerge
If you wish true freedom of speech among internet platforms, then it is up for the state to intervene to make it legally binding
Until then, it's company policy
This is a problem hoe the internet is defined
Twiter and facebokk will fail If they kick out half of their userbase
It's not about opinions, it's about media competition and narrative control
You have a house a senate and a republican presidency
It is true, they control what's in the platform, they control what you see. But it's up to you to not be solely reliant on one company to get your narrative from
They fucking collude, you dunce
This just proves the republicans are impotent are in it for the lobby money
Alex Jones has his own platform and website
Yeah, and now his video host, and email provider have dropped him as well
Youtube, Facebook and twitter were merely one of his distributors
Quit talking to me like I don't understand the process lol
How long until his website provider drops him?
I give it a few days
If you understand the process then you know that he has other options
hard when all of sosial media is a sneeze from a total monopoly, and for how long. we have seen before they have removed web pages from the web easy
The problem with getting the state into internet platform regulations is that each country abides different sets of rules and has different interests, so if a platform had to align with every country they might ditch some in the way
How long until Sargon gets on the chopping block
It'll be super soon
How do you NOT see the problem where private companies have successfully privatized the concept of thought police, the concept of an 'unperson', and mass social manipulation on behalf of NGOs and international political organizations?
How does this not strike fear and anger into you?
the hate speach roules is writen is such ways that anything is hate speach and if they hate your speach they can remove it
Doesn't that just show that they have been given too much power?
Hate speech = wrongthink
@Capitรกn Alatriste Ahh, but they're a "private company", no?
We've had this exact conversation already :3
Exactly, private companies need to be kept in check
They don't. The market does that.
@Shurik Yeah, and you're a nihilist who's willing to get raped because it's 'inevitable'.
lol
The market cares little for free speech
I'm not a nihlist lol.
Nihilist*
atm the free marked dont work as intended as the big 4, have so much power they can remove anyone trying to start a competision. just look at gab
@Shurik Yes we need more free trade with China
that will surely solve our problems
@Capitรกn Alatriste The end of the day the market cares about stability
Ahh yes, the free trade of Apple's ownership by China
The free market is just as much of a threat to your liberty as a government is
Wouldn't the forces of the free market have made a new online video sharing platform to compete against youtube with all the freedoms?
>free market is not a single entity or monolith
I don't think China's tech scene is as sttong as silicone valley
@Capitรกn Alatriste Who will host the videos?
china is good at one thing, stealing everyone else shit
>free market needs individuals to work
@๐JIK Bleach๐ Yes, we get that.
I mean we shouldn't be producing stuff in China imo. But I don't decide that.
>free market is not a goverment
I mean it's a reason they are called Chinese knockoffs.
@Fitzydog you buy domains
last video share site that did try was crused by google. google did use it posion to make them none existen on the internet
Google is already creating a censored search engine for China. Wouldn't it be more efficient and cheaper to just merge the search engines?
Like as fucked as silicone valley is at the moment. The USA is still the biggest exporter of ideas.
@Capitรกn Alatriste Who's going to sell a domain to a platform who hosts 'Nazis'? Or server space?
And the highest number of tech start-ups.
Servers aren't that expensive, nor is an internet connection.
Remember Hatreon?
Most people have a price, despite their ideology
@Fitzydog money always buys you what you need, it's a free market afterall
or even more simply someone at google did say that startup was for nazis and it dead
Remember Hatreon? Anyone?
Gone
The *entire supply chain* for the tech community is ideologically infected
I mean that's a byproduct of the universities leaning super hard left for the past forever
social media and the forces of corruption
You'd literally need to create a parallel internet and economic system at this point just to get around this shit
when the people that sell domains are sjw as well you have a huge problem
What forces of corruption? @๐JIK Bleach๐
Doesn't matter, that's the free market.
I'm aware.
This ecosystem is still super young. The internet as we know it has only been around for 1/1.5 decades.
The *ecosystem* is choking out the rest of our functioning society.
Elaborate.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by that.
<:what:382980756139409409>
because muh ideoligy
This whole damn conversation
but they based in US surely they can work something out? (legislation)
You have 4 tech giants that are willing and able to control the ideological flow of natural conversation, and are being told which way to push by the Media/Political/Academic complex
Why do you want the government to get involved in the internet? Also how would you propose the government regulate the internet?
What 4 are you talking about? Google, Facebook, Twitter, and? @Fitzydog
Apple
What
or Microsoft
Basically uphold the laws of free speech regardless of the situation
What
The state can intervene if this right is infringed upon
I guess I can see Microsoft because of Bing and the power of defaults, but even then that's a pretty weak case.
