I wanted to try and see how the microphone would sound on the Rock Zircons, if I plugged it into my desktop.
But that's apparently not possible because of the connector. However, I found out that it's possible to connect a smartphone to the computer over wifi, and use whatever microphone is connected. It actually works really well.

My windows 10 computer was formerly for gaming, now for video editing, working basically

I'm never comfortable with it spying on me but there's no way to escape that these days, every device we have with connections to the net spies on us, I used to be really angry and Stallman-y about it but I also need to be able to talk to people more normie than me and isolating myself doesn't do anything but bring misery

So I try to find a balance

I used to be the guy who demanded that I only talk to friends on encrypted channels and walking around with a dumb phone, at some point you have to live your life

I only do things now that make sense like keeping my passwords in a local database since providers like LastPass tend to get hacked.

I use Windows 10 on my laptop and any distro other than Arch has issues with it.

I have surrendered all my passwords to the Google overlords

I think not having a Facebook is the biggest stance I take but I suspect it's starting to hurt more than help, employers search my name and see nothing

for a job i had to have a smartphone, i wanted to buy a xiaomi but my sister had a spare iphone s she gave me it. i make a point of not putting any personal info on it or logging into anything. i quite detest the fact that i have it really.

the most annoying thing is it forces you to log into your email to transfer photos over. it cant physically send them it has to go through god knows how many third party servers.
