How are those embodied in a country? Through the state...
Let me clear this up. My views are as follows, I am a social democrat as a general rule, however, unlike many leftists, I believe that national identity is intristically important, and that national interests have value in serving the general populus, when the don't conflict with the democratic interests of the people. Terms like nationalist and patriot are inherently obscurant, my views can only be described as what I've stated in this paragraph. If you disagree with me views, fine, but I won't debate something as meaningless as the terms stated as these were just a convenient way of stating the above. If you were unsure before you shouldn't be now. If you still think I'm a nazi I'd LOVE to hear it.
*my views
Thats not being a leftist
I think it has to do how the word nationalism is handled in my native language
Social democrats
Are liberals
leftist is a relative term
if you think social democracy isn't remotely left wing then you are marginally insane
Social democrats are actual peronists.
honestly seek help if you think that. You think an actual nazi would think that bernie sanders is a fucking rightist? Fuck off you idiot
Leftist is relative within systems only, and
The systems as a whoke
actually, I think left and right are stupid terms
Are known as liberal
He obviously said he wasnt american
call them what they are, but not that
how are anarchists and tankies in the same category
bloody stupid
Lsft and right refers to their positions in general on an axis
that doesn't exist
Not within a given political system relative to one another
And it does
Hence every test you've ever taken
Its just a means of organizing things
except if you use left and right only in the sense of economic freedom
Which you know they dont
if you think I'm not left wing, cool, but to many other people I would be seen as a left winger. You only see me as being right (I assume) because I do not believe as heavily in the 'left wing cause' as you do. Fine, but at least have the common sense to understand that your view of my views are subjective and are not worth arguing for that reason.
So its out of the question
You're left wing relative to your given political circumstance
So unless you live in North Korea
You're a liberal.
what's my political circumstance?
As liberal democracies are the primary method of organization on earth
And you have internet
So unless I'm living in dictatorial squalor I'm a liberal, cool
And speak english
And no
I mean unless you live in a system that isnt in liberal or democratic
Which most are
then I'm right wing?
You're a liberal
I.e. basically center, given this convo
But uh
Legit just look at a graph
Where "republicans" and "democrats" fall
Relative to literally anything else
You do realize there are genuine traditionalist reactionary forces that would seek to destroy every part of the "liberal" society I/we live in.
Yes?
and replace it with someting much worse than liberalism
And they are obviously right of liberals
They arent liberals lol
so I'm still a nazi?
to you
?
No, we already decided we were using terms wrong, or atleast in a manner that isnt consistent.
Its just you're not a leftist, outside of any liberal democracy.
okay good, I don't mind if I'm liberal not leftist, my views are unchanged
Yes, but you see the confusion, you said im a nationalist socialist "democrat"
Or a "nationalist social democrat"
Either way neither make sense right off the bat unless a context is clarified
yeah it's hard to clarify context in three words
Which is why you probably dont want 3 words
People who have lists of shit to qualify what they think they are, are redundant or dont know what they're talking about
if I need to quickly explain my views I'll tend to do something like that
Yea, just, you're a Social Democrat lol
You're a bernie bro
Lol
Which is still liberal, and capitalist, so you're free to take more of a national stance without calling yourself a nationalist.
Sure, I was making the distinction between what I believed on nationhood vs the anti-nationhood beliefs common in much leftist discourse. This is an important point to note as I was clearly dealing with /pol/ with whom this is an important topic
as there is democratic socialism, you can very well be a socialist democrat, and a nationalist on top of that
Yea well if you're a aocial democrat your belief in a state isnt in question lol
So not necessary
oy i woke up did the commies came?
not social democrat
theres a commie here
socialIST democrat
Ive been here
And
Was responding to other dude
Just slow
With one hand
I think socialists tend to believe in hard revolution, that any capitalist state regardless of left wing political sympathy is just in the way of actual socialism
@dopeblizz why should there be less food in socialism
famine boiii
why does socialism cause famines?
Nope not all socialists believe in hard revolution, sadly enough.
But also
I already linked in the chat
The reality of environments and the third world/global south under capitalism
News flash,
There are famines...
Let me do it again
scarcing goods is shit and @rn idk go ask stalin why he left those ukrainians without food
Xd
I can't give you an answer on that sadly
now i'm goin' to bed cya around
