There are mainstream authors and theories for the given culture, so since I study slavs and IE, the mainstream theory is the kurgan hypothesis, and the yamnya urheimat hypothesis, which as it turns out has no evidence for it, rather Klysov explains in rather rdamning detail teh genetic connections and so far the annatolian hypothesis is supported by genetics, and linguistics.

The issue with the urheimat hypothesis is for example the issue of a lack of R1a, and R1b at the same time and an issue of no archeological links between CWC and Yamnya.

and as to the given culture, for slavs Gieysztor is a must read, if you want to know about slavic proto culture etc. and learn something about slavic mythology.
