Yes yes, one person can ruin it for all
The most important thing that needs changing is that prison time for drug possession should be lowered wayyyyyy down
We are relaxed here on this, Austria is not?
Or turned up to life. Including alcohol. No mercy <:merkle:565254688711376907>
Austria is pretty relaxed yeah. Even the police don't care much if a kid smoked weed. I was a walking stereotype and when I got questioned once after they blew up a drug ring the officer went so easy on me I felt like he wasn't a real officer
Is that a pro consumption statement or a "you can get higher sober than with drugs" statement?
That was when I was around 14 or 15, and I imagine if I had been in the US, this could've ruined my life
Not saying it would've, but there's a chance
In Austria you get helped for having drug problems, not put behind bars
Yes, I smoked weed in the 90's in the states, know it was super illegal did not help the paranoia symptoms.
Bad times yep
Today it is super relaxed.
I think that was the time of crack cocaine or something
Some drug utterly destroyed the black neighborhoods
Crack, yes
Now it is heroin, but both poor whites and blacks
Meth no longer at the top?
I don't know about Meth, it's still around, but they call the heroin shit a "crisis" so...
I guess you're right, heroin is mentioned as the most damaging drug in the book I read
There also two different types of harm
Self-harm and social harm
Alcohol is an anti-social drug, whereas weed is the opposite
It's a very complex topic
Also funny btw
LSD is more harmless than weed
But as you said earlier, we could even include foods into the equation
Also a Swiss invention ๐
XTC even more harmless than LSD
The stories went the exact opposite
Weedheads ah lets ignore them. XTC the drug of satan omg it kills
I never heard it like this, just that XTC will make you horny and if you do it too much your heart will explode.
"You sold me on horny" I thought.
We had horror stories be told to us
Some guy allegedly killed his gf while he was tripping
Like, they went to sleep in a tent at a festival, he then just murdered her
And of course XTC was the culprit
Idk, I kinda don't believe the story anymore
Only XTC? maybe she was an insufferable bitch and would have been murdered anyway at some point by some guy if not him? ๐
I think the teachers that told us this just wanted to use it to get people off of drugs
Not realizing that this type of story doesn't deter anyone who's already interested, and the rest would've never tried it anyway
I wish they'd be more objective about drugs
Make it sound boring as hell with tons of facts and numbers
Hammer it into kid's heads until they get sick when they hear someone name a drug
Meh, my rule, keep it closer to nature, don't involve too much of the chemical process.
Sure
Although
When people say "it's bad cause it's chemical"
I just laugh, it's such terrible reasoning
The human body is mostly chemicals
There is a threshold, don't get me wrong
Like our entire digestive system wouldn't even work without chemicals
Our brains even
Imo just make drugs sound really lame and "uncool", that seems like a good deterrent
All systems that developed over millions of years to form a careful balance with nature.
Now if I take a drug like Meth, with- who knows how many compounds, versus, weed...
Right
I buy meth off the street, I have a general idea of what is already in it, INCLUDING any additional "surprises" the cooks might have in it, same with with, but if I buy weed off the street, I reduce those chances, just as if I cook or grow either of these drugs myself.
*weed
Eliminate for variable X as much as possible, find the baseline, reduce the control to least destructive, you form an argument to say what is or is not more harmful.
I'd say corn syrup is more addictive than weed.
But you have to control for accessibility and how pervasive it is
Oh hell yeah sugar is probably the most destructive drug in the west
Cancer rates far higher than they need to be
And many other diseases ofc
But hey
Mmmm
"Those crackheads, ruining their lives" says dad, as he poors sugar into his 6th coffee of the day
I never understood dudes that needed that much.
Maybe had a previous reliance on cocaine in the past? No idea.
Coffee is a pretty horrible drug because it's not being talked about as potentially dangerous
People drink these things like they're nothing, not giving a thought, and I mean, it's not like I don't understand them, but seriously
Lack of education smh
I don't even wanna know how many things I have in my diet that I should still cut out
Well, to be fair, could be one day the scientists will suddenly realize something that was thought to be healthy is now a cause of X problem.
As is that has never happened...<:thinkcide:462282415549841409>
With education SOMETIMES on shaky grounds, media A LOT of times on shaky grounds, a bit of doubt is healthy.
There is a reason why critical thought is a first year general in many universities, shame so many students throw it out the window and follow other professors as a damn prophet.
Maybe that's the reason the coffee epidemic is not being talked about
Cause scientists abuse it themselves ofc
It is certainly conducive to keeping people productive...
Soft drinks have been a target, but I promise coffee will be protected for a while longer
Coffee is not really helpful actually
It brings the overall performance down
Thats why you drink it 6 times a day
But you don't notice that effect, and if you did, only after about 1-2 weeks
No what I'm saying is, even 6 coffees don't raise your performance
They lower your average so much that you perform worse over time
Dependency then habit
Yeah
Plus the fact most coffee drinkers add sugar
That's the real killer
I don't know what happened, sugar was a target for a while
But then suddenly not so much
Special interests, other epidemics, natural disaster, pedophile ring that serves the elite class.
Trump miss spelling a word in a Tweet, I dunno...
Low attention span you mean?
What were we talking about?
Well the fact that sugar is probably the number 1 killer in the west
I was joking. ๐
Oh ok lol
