I learned it apparently blocks MIUI 8 for being MIUI 8 and most of the root cloaking methods don't work now.

Since my device is old, I need to go down to MIUI 7 or a Custom ROM, and a lot of the Custom ROMs are also gone.

And the worst part is how much guesswork I have to do to figure out what's making it not work, since they're too lazy to even write error codes.
