Really all Republicans should be doing that

2018-02-13 02:49:06 UTC

Regardless we should shove this election in the shills' and blue wavers faces if this plays out like @๐ŸŽƒBoo-ton๐ŸŽƒ is hoping

2018-02-13 02:49:28 UTC

For God's sakes, these elections are so damned small you can have a single person put posters up all over the district and they'd win from recognizability alone

2018-02-13 02:49:46 UTC

Look at the count, like a thousand people vote

2018-02-13 02:49:57 UTC

@FLanon yeah, Gillespie, Moore, and a lot of state legislature republican candidates would have won if they just put more effort into campaigning instead of sitting on their asses

2018-02-13 02:50:04 UTC

We should be raking these in

2018-02-13 02:50:28 UTC

If there's one thing I'm learning, in electoral politics, there's no such thing as "high and dry"

2018-02-13 02:50:42 UTC

It's always a battle you have to fight tooth and nail

2018-02-13 02:51:03 UTC

@FLanon I think local elections have far more to do with the recognizability and work the candidate puts in, than their political party and stances on the issues

2018-02-13 02:51:14 UTC

I hope Trump is realizing this after VA and AL, we need to have him make appearances everywhere.

2018-02-13 02:51:25 UTC

I know, these offices are so obscure

2018-02-13 02:51:42 UTC

who the hell even keeps track of how their state representative / state senator / city councilman votes

2018-02-13 02:51:42 UTC

"House District-23B"

2018-02-13 02:51:51 UTC
2018-02-13 02:52:08 UTC

Only the most hardcore of democracy believers would actually go through the trouble

2018-02-13 02:52:15 UTC

*cough* boomers

2018-02-13 02:52:18 UTC

Only the most hardcore political people keep track of state legislatures

2018-02-13 02:52:22 UTC

that and autists like us

2018-02-13 02:52:22 UTC

Yeah

2018-02-13 02:52:24 UTC

Exactly

2018-02-13 02:52:26 UTC

Lmao

2018-02-13 02:52:45 UTC

Just put up fucking signs holy shit

2018-02-13 02:53:27 UTC

Anyways, since Trump won this place with 59% and this guy (with the most recent info we have) has 68%

2018-02-13 02:53:51 UTC

59-41 vs 68-30

2018-02-13 02:54:11 UTC

@FLanon to clarify though I don't even think it's boomers in general who would go through the trouble

2018-02-13 02:54:29 UTC

probably old people who are retired, some of which are boomers

2018-02-13 02:54:40 UTC

That would be something like a 20 point R swing, right?

2018-02-13 02:54:45 UTC

some of which are silent generation, some of which are greatest generation

2018-02-13 02:54:48 UTC

If I have my info right

2018-02-13 02:55:07 UTC

I get it, but boomer's a bit of a catch-all term if you get my drift

2018-02-13 02:55:23 UTC

I don't know anyone in real life who cares about local elections, maybe aside from the NYC mayoral election

2018-02-13 02:56:08 UTC

That's why like 1000 people per district which probably has like something to the effect of 10000 people at the very least vote

2018-02-13 02:56:20 UTC

I can't imagine it being any more than 5% of the population

2018-02-13 02:58:02 UTC

@๐ŸŽƒBoo-ton๐ŸŽƒ where are you getting the results from btw

2018-02-13 02:58:03 UTC

if there were only 1000 people at a 5% rate, it would be 50 people

2018-02-13 02:58:11 UTC

what do you exactly mean

2018-02-13 02:58:21 UTC

WE DID IT

2018-02-13 02:58:23 UTC

I mean that the 1000 people are the voters

2018-02-13 02:58:25 UTC

WE REVERSED THE TREND

2018-02-13 02:58:34 UTC

REPUBLICANS HAVE THE MOMENTUM

2018-02-13 02:58:37 UTC

in a 10000 or 20000 scenario

2018-02-13 02:58:40 UTC

Well, there you go!

2018-02-13 02:58:57 UTC

๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿท ๐Ÿฅ‚

2018-02-13 02:59:02 UTC

The wave has receeded!

2018-02-13 02:59:12 UTC

๐ŸŽŠ ๐ŸŽŠ ๐ŸŽ†

2018-02-13 02:59:59 UTC

Amazing

2018-02-13 03:00:11 UTC

What is our final margin

2018-02-13 03:01:01 UTC

66% i believe

2018-02-13 03:01:12 UTC

wait

2018-02-13 03:01:19 UTC

@๐ŸŽƒBoo-ton๐ŸŽƒ i wonder if it's GOP gaining nationwide momentum or just the candidate putting in a lot of hard effort

2018-02-13 03:01:33 UTC

It's causation

2018-02-13 03:01:33 UTC

or maybe the Democrat was the one slacking

2018-02-13 03:01:52 UTC

When the GOP candidates put hard effort, then we get momentum

2018-02-13 03:01:56 UTC

It's not either/or

2018-02-13 03:02:12 UTC

They go hand in hand, momentum comes when we work for it

2018-02-13 03:03:00 UTC

I don't believe the democrats winning all these special election races for state legislature means that there will be a blur wave, so at the same time I'm not going to say this special election victory for the GOP is a sign of the opposite. This is all good news regardless though

2018-02-13 03:03:14 UTC

We've got to keep it up!

2018-02-13 03:03:29 UTC

Let's see what BlueMidterm2018 has to say about it

2018-02-13 03:03:33 UTC

Now that we're seeing the turn, we have to seize it with all of our might, we can't slack now

2018-02-13 03:03:47 UTC

I haven't had liberal tears over am election loss since Jon Ossoff

2018-02-13 03:04:00 UTC

If I could have it happen, there'd be posters of local GOP candidates all across the nation

2018-02-13 03:04:03 UTC

or maybe I'm forgetting something ? Hmm

2018-02-13 03:04:25 UTC

Gianforte came after Ossoff off the top of my head, so I guess that was the last one

2018-02-13 03:04:42 UTC

then came the Virginia race, but I don't count that because that's a lean blue state, though it was winnable

2018-02-13 03:05:02 UTC

then came the Alabama upset, which is the only real victory they had in 2017

2018-02-13 03:05:06 UTC

I count it

2018-02-13 03:05:22 UTC

When it happened I still had purple in my mind

2018-02-13 03:06:00 UTC

Well, in any case, the curse is broken, @๐ŸŽƒBoo-ton๐ŸŽƒ update that infographic with the swings

2018-02-13 03:06:24 UTC

look at these fags

2018-02-13 03:06:59 UTC

"I never thought I'd be as excited about these random house and senate races hundreds of miles away from where I live as I have been this past year. Now I really look forward to following them."

though to be fair, we're on the same side of the coin, though I like to think we aren't crybabies about it

2018-02-13 03:07:26 UTC

We've got something to lose

2018-02-13 03:07:37 UTC

"Eek, let's hope things turn around in HD23B. Not like we are going to win it but an under performance would be disappointing."

2018-02-13 03:08:31 UTC

Pay them no mind, we need to figure out the next special election

2018-02-13 03:09:04 UTC

I wish I could just drive in my car all over the place and just be a professional campaigner

2018-02-13 03:09:24 UTC

It's something to do

2018-02-13 03:09:43 UTC

Only so much you can really do over the internet

2018-02-13 03:10:15 UTC

I'm not even sure how we can influence special elections for the state legislature through the Internet

2018-02-13 03:10:30 UTC

We can't

2018-02-13 03:10:33 UTC

which is what @๐ŸŽƒBoo-ton๐ŸŽƒ has been trying to do

2018-02-13 03:10:56 UTC

posting about it on /pol/ where ptg only has 150 posters per thread isn't going to do much

2018-02-13 03:11:01 UTC

Unless we get extremely lucky and happen to get a madman on the discord near X district that'd be willing to do a mass poster campaign

2018-02-13 03:11:20 UTC

150 posters spread across a country of 330 million means that there's a good chance no one reading it even lives in the area

2018-02-13 03:11:22 UTC

yeah, that's true

2018-02-13 03:11:30 UTC

come to think about it, I guess that's how you influence them

2018-02-13 03:11:40 UTC

just get 1 guy to do a mass poster campaign or something along those lines

2018-02-13 03:12:02 UTC

while it's hard to influence those races through the internet, it's MUCH easier to influence them in real life

2018-02-13 03:12:24 UTC

I think we'll be limited to the US races in influence, and hopefully the Red Storm brand will be useful, we can shop some infographics and put a logo on it

2018-02-13 03:12:34 UTC

As long as Discord doesn't fuck us we'll be good

2018-02-13 03:12:36 UTC

1 dedicated guy can swing a local special election by putting up a bunch of posters, autistically devoting himself to getting as many people in his social circle out to the polls...that kind of thing

2018-02-13 03:12:54 UTC

I wish I could do that, but life calls, y'know

2018-02-13 03:13:00 UTC

yeah...I think this Discord and /rsg/ is best used for the production of infographics, copypastas, memes, etc

2018-02-13 03:13:14 UTC

and spamming them across the Internet so 1 person can reach millions

2018-02-13 03:13:31 UTC

actual, on the ground activism won't be our forte

2018-02-13 03:13:36 UTC

we're like Special Forces

2018-02-13 03:13:43 UTC

We could put the spherical logo on the top right corner or something, maybe not the discord link

2018-02-13 03:13:49 UTC

GOP and Trump will be the main standing army

2018-02-13 03:14:09 UTC

Ever since IOTBW I've been thinking that's our big mode of activism

2018-02-13 03:14:38 UTC

@FLanon good point
