Let countries handle socialism on their own
because once you give it up,China is going to fill the void.
China will collapse any day now
And they will weaponize the WTO against western countries lol.
oh my gosh.
@zakattack04 yeah, but internal battles are American problems, some dickheads fucking around somewhere else isn't an American problem
Are you dense?
12 trillion economies don't crash "any day now."
And that is still not a valid justification for handing over global dominance to someone else.
China is transitioning towards capitalism
Not anymore.
China is capitalist
Communist China is over
After their economic reform of the 1970's they stopped.
just straight up
Wrong.
You're living in the 1980s
Several industries are still nationalized, the citizens have limited rights.
They have the imagery of communism, but that's not what's going on
Communism is on its hind legs
Dying
Oh no it's a mixed market that must mean maoism is alive
I'm not talking about Communism lol.
I'm talking about giving up global dominace means China will fill the void.
And use their massive industry to pummel the US in trade to Europe.
That's why we need to put tariffs against China
China is Communist.
You don't think China will take complete control over the World Trade Organization against us if you give up power.
They're doing that right now
Imagine thinking that gun control, no fly lists, corporate intrusion and collusion, etc. wouldn't lead to this.
Whenever we run a deficit with these stupid military budgets, China gets more USD in the reserves
@๐Boo-ton๐ I don't want to be mean, but you are insulting me telling me I live in the 1980s when you don't understand how these economies are operating. The US adding tariffs isn't going to save our economy if you give all US's position on the world stage. They will take control of these global organization and use them to push US markets out of places like Europe and Asia.
All corporations in China MUST be majority-owned by Chinese and are ultimately controlled by the Government.
That is what China wants.
I'm too supportive of freedom for this.
I'm literally a feudalist but I'm too supportive of freedom for this.
China is totally communist, their economy has shifted more right after their economic reform movements of the 1970's, but honestly it's still pretty left wing.
Chinese neo-merchantilism stands on cheap labor and cheap labor alone.
Yeah
So if you give them control of free trade agreements, how do you think that'll work for us?
They run a massive trade surplus and they tariff our goods.
Yep.
By not playing their games.
Exactly.
China doesn't even let us own companies there.
In many industries anyway
That's my fucking point, of why if the US gives up it's position on the world stage, it'll only get worse.
The US should be self-sustaining. We have plenty of resouces right here at home.
^
Honestly Trump said it well, like, "When was the last time you saw a Chevrolet in Tokyo, or Shanghai."
Flanon.
There is more to an economy than resources.
Land
Labor
Capital
Nice high school economics class lol, and you prove my point there.
Our labor is incredibly more expensive than China's.
We have got to change the way we think about the labor system
If you give them control of the world stage, they'll suck up all the industrial jobs.
Like they are now?
^
yeah? so you want to give them more control?
We should just retreat to our borders and make sure it only gets worse?
because that's what you told me ealier./
By playing into their stupid little games, we're going to hand them power anyways
If they can't sell their products here, we win
You have to be kidding me...
We have to take better control with the economy, and that is not by signing off our businesses to foreigners
We have to take a nationalistic approach
Hire American
Buy American
Too expensive, too many regulations.
we have the consumers
Gut the regulations, lower minimum wage.
Then it will work.
without us, they're fucked
But then the minimum wage people will screech even harder
yes
This is my proposal:
Exactly lol, so we can't return to our borders only.
I support lower regulations and no minimum wage
Ease the regulations on beginning small businesses
It just cannot work economically Button Mash
But you said it would yourself
protip
What?
Anything that hurts China helps us.
^
I support a $10 per pound tariff on all Chinese postal shipments into the United States.
^
You need a license to do anything in this economy, the barrier to entry is too high. If we made it easy for people to start their own businesses on their own, we could take anything China throws at us.
No I said you were completely wrong to say the US could retreat into its borders and produce everything itself, it's economic illiteracy.
Because that's what you suggested.
Labor is changing
it's too damn expensive hear.
So just send the jobs overseas?
Put thousands of Americans out of work?
t. Strawman.
Unfortunately, automation is becoming more and more prominent
