and law

2018-09-12 08:11:56 UTC

terms like slave and servant were mixed

2018-09-12 08:11:57 UTC

I'd call the police on you

2018-09-12 08:12:07 UTC

๐Ÿ˜‚

2018-09-12 08:12:08 UTC

we're not barbarians from 2000 years ago

2018-09-12 08:12:18 UTC

you cant have a slave in the US everyday

2018-09-12 08:12:40 UTC

hold on

2018-09-12 08:12:43 UTC

some would call slaves servants

2018-09-12 08:12:46 UTC

are you saying slavery is okay

2018-09-12 08:12:53 UTC

some servants were slaves

2018-09-12 08:13:00 UTC

a paided servent is differnt from a slave

2018-09-12 08:13:02 UTC

no im not saying its okay

2018-09-12 08:13:07 UTC

servent is a position

2018-09-12 08:13:15 UTC

slave is a peice of property

2018-09-12 08:13:17 UTC

Actually slavery is still legal in the US prison system *stay* *woke*

2018-09-12 08:13:23 UTC

shut it nerd

2018-09-12 08:13:30 UTC

then whats up with "what bothers you about buying slaves?"

2018-09-12 08:13:41 UTC

Look I heard it in a rap song and I need to bring it up everytime @DrPeper

2018-09-12 08:13:54 UTC

its aquestion meant to gather more understanding

2018-09-12 08:14:06 UTC

wtf

2018-09-12 08:14:09 UTC

ahhahaha

2018-09-12 08:14:11 UTC

hhahahaa

2018-09-12 08:14:21 UTC

its pretty obvious why would anyone be against buying slaves

2018-09-12 08:14:26 UTC

its wrong

2018-09-12 08:14:57 UTC

yeah more understnding of how big your pocket book can get by profiting off the forced imprisionment of others ๐Ÿ˜‚

2018-09-12 08:15:21 UTC

i go into jails to minister not to mistreat

2018-09-12 08:15:34 UTC

you go to jail for having slaves

2018-09-12 08:15:58 UTC

this is second impressive mental gymnastics ive seen after derek

2018-09-12 08:16:08 UTC

i share the word of God with inmates who want to know about Jesus

2018-09-12 08:16:14 UTC

cool

2018-09-12 08:16:24 UTC

Ironically Christmas Everyday is being the devil's advocate in this situation

2018-09-12 08:16:29 UTC

thats for that off topic info you already shared

2018-09-12 08:16:39 UTC

thanks

2018-09-12 08:16:50 UTC

someone said i mistreat the inmates or something

2018-09-12 08:16:57 UTC

?

2018-09-12 08:16:58 UTC

i was redefining my position

2018-09-12 08:17:03 UTC

we are talking about slaves

2018-09-12 08:17:16 UTC

you know, the topic of the coversation

2018-09-12 08:17:40 UTC

slaves seems to be the ongoing theme

2018-09-12 08:18:10 UTC

it is an example we used

2018-09-12 08:18:46 UTC

of how the bible can be used to support two contradictory sides

2018-09-12 08:19:08 UTC

its pretty concerning how your reply to "has a verse telling ppl to buy slaves" was "whats bothers u about buying slaves"

2018-09-12 08:19:19 UTC

if you use eisogesis without exegesis, yes, you can gather a false idea

2018-09-12 08:19:44 UTC

so people didnt use the bible to support both sides

2018-09-12 08:20:13 UTC

my bad, i guess ill just go inform all the history books about slavery in the US to change things

2018-09-12 08:20:37 UTC

bro, the rabbit hole is pretty deep

2018-09-12 08:20:45 UTC

sounds the alars =]

2018-09-12 08:20:51 UTC

alarms

2018-09-12 08:21:20 UTC

so, you dont see a problem with the bible being used for both sides?

2018-09-12 08:21:30 UTC

What's esiogesis and exegesis?

2018-09-12 08:22:20 UTC

your meaning vs intended meaning

2018-09-12 08:22:27 UTC

eisogesis is like bouncing ideas off verses to gather meaning, exegesis is understanding scripture as it is written and the culture it was written to, and the original meaning

2018-09-12 08:22:49 UTC

both are important

2018-09-12 08:22:49 UTC

Both sound flawed

2018-09-12 08:23:42 UTC

if it can used to justify any position then what makes you think you interpretation of the bible is correct

2018-09-12 08:24:30 UTC

i believe the way i understand the bible fits exegetically

2018-09-12 08:24:48 UTC

i will tell you how i feel about things like the authors intended meaning and trying to study that and sticking to it. It doesnt really matter what the author meant to say. All that matters is what people get out of it. If the author did a good enough job then people will get what the author intended. However, everyone is differnt they see things differnt. So if you get something differnt out of it. So what, its your personal views

2018-09-12 08:25:33 UTC

again, thats a general statement not just aimed at the bible

2018-09-12 08:25:47 UTC

i believe the bible, as its written, and as the holy spirit leads me

2018-09-12 08:26:26 UTC

and let it lead you how you think it does, but you cant be surprised when someone differnt from you sees the bible saying much differnt things

2018-09-12 08:26:47 UTC

As the holy spirit leads you seems like you allow your own baises to lead your reading

2018-09-12 08:26:53 UTC

again, eisogesis should be in line with exegesis

2018-09-12 08:27:00 UTC

but it isnt

2018-09-12 08:27:02 UTC

it wont be

2018-09-12 08:27:17 UTC

it was written 2000 years ago, people are differnt

2018-09-12 08:27:36 UTC

people view the world differntly then people 2000 years ago did

2018-09-12 08:27:43 UTC

you dont understand so it cant be, is that your arguement?

2018-09-12 08:28:36 UTC

no, my arguement is that its a written text and people view things differently and sometimes in a contradictory way.

2018-09-12 08:28:58 UTC

so its impossible to have a one size fits all aproach

2018-09-12 08:29:18 UTC

which is what you are saying

2018-09-12 08:29:26 UTC

^^^

2018-09-12 08:29:32 UTC

i said before everyone has a very personal relationship with Jesus Christ

2018-09-12 08:29:54 UTC

which would be a reason why a text cant fit everyone

2018-09-12 08:30:03 UTC

so it doesnt have a particular intrepretation

2018-09-12 08:30:10 UTC

cant fit and agree with everyone

2018-09-12 08:30:12 UTC

[1 John 2:27]

2018-09-12 08:30:13 UTC

2018-09-12 08:30:43 UTC

yes what fluff said. There cant be one solid definit meaning

2018-09-12 08:30:55 UTC

everyone gets differnt meanings from it

2018-09-12 08:31:05 UTC

[1 peter 3:18]

2018-09-12 08:31:06 UTC

2018-09-12 08:31:22 UTC

does that have more than 1 meaning?

2018-09-12 08:31:32 UTC

how can we know?

2018-09-12 08:31:40 UTC

good answer

2018-09-12 08:31:57 UTC

how can we know the "true" meaning of it if everyone is gonna have a different interpretattion

2018-09-12 08:32:05 UTC

i bet i can easily come up with multiple meanings for that

2018-09-12 08:32:19 UTC

You need the holy spirit living inside of you to teach you

2018-09-12 08:33:36 UTC

lol

2018-09-12 08:34:09 UTC

Jesus was going to be killed painfully for sins he committed, some times he commited the crimes for a just reason some times for an unjust. He wanted to show us how to get closer to god. He was going tokilled but was given a burst of energy and was able to escape punishment

2018-09-12 08:34:26 UTC

i love you and i greatly appreciate your interest

2018-09-12 08:34:51 UTC

there is a diffenrt interperation of that passage

2018-09-12 08:35:09 UTC

[2 Corinthians 5:21]

2018-09-12 08:35:09 UTC

2018-09-12 08:35:55 UTC

God made a new sin in the world to replace the other ones so that we would be better for him

2018-09-12 08:35:58 UTC

at least we can agree with bible having different interpretations

2018-09-12 08:37:19 UTC

Right, Jesus paid the price for sin, so that by simply putting our faith in Jesus we can be reunited with the Father of spirits.

2018-09-12 08:37:51 UTC

that isnt what i said

2018-09-12 08:39:11 UTC

God sent Jesus to take our sin onto himself so that we would be better equipped to be with God, having the righteousness of Jesus Christ

2018-09-12 08:39:32 UTC

i mean, yeah i know what its suppose to say

2018-09-12 08:39:40 UTC

that isnt the point i am making though
