See I don't think that reys narrative couldn't perhaps become more interesting with a different character focus instead of what they did, but only changing one minor scene will not help the entire narrative structure, it would just remove the focus of what they were actually doing with the character. I'm not saying what they were doing was good. I'm saying changing minor elements to contradict the rest of the film would not serve to improve the film. Without major changes to the structure it would just be erratic and contradictory.
