You know a lot of those in either the left wing or the right wing aren't heavily conservative or liberal. But being split would be centrist, you're either a republican with some leftist views or a democrat with some right wing views

Just because you're republican doesn't mean you are some hill billy from Texas that is full conservative

But a downright centrist is not as common as people like to think, the only kind of centrists I know are people that don't want to get involved with politics at all

Because when you come down to it, it's either conservative lenient or liberal lenient, you can join a different party to fit what you want, but being a centrist isn't a party.
